I really enjoy listening to your process Christy as you explain what you think of the selections of prints in these pads. It helps me with more critical thinking of what goes with what. As I am also a quilter I love paper prints as much as fabric prints too. They are very similar in their aspects as to what are good choices. So thanks for the insight of your decision making and as always you have a keen eye that I truly appreciate!

Yes, I totally get what you mean! I love looking at fabric prints at the store and seeing what I would put together, even though I don’t sew. I just enjoy the patterns!💗

TFS - I may need to watch several times to feel comfortable layering multiple patterned papers. Plus getting over covering pieces of pretty paper hence the hoarding of them!😅 Have a fabulous weekend!
@christygetscraftyАй бұрын
It definitely takes some practice but you’ll get there! I used to hoard my favorite patterns as well, but that’s like buying a beautiful shirt and only admiring it on the hanger in your closet. It brings you so much more joy when you get to use it and show off its beauty to others.😉

Your paper videos are so helpful! I am starting to understand how you pick your choices of paper so much more than when I first started watching your videos. Thank you for sharing and explaining how you analyze your paper choices 😊

I love this video! I love hearing and seeing what you would put together and why and what you wouldn't and why. You are so talented and know just how to explain your processes. This is really going to help me when I am trying to put my own patterned papes together. I really love the shades and patterns of the Mintay paper pad, they are so pretty and versatile. I love all of the content you put out, I find it so useful and motivating. Thank you for sharing your talents and creativity with us. You are such a light to this community and are so needed too. Thank you for doing everything you do to keep your channel going and for being an example and light to others. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!! Sending you lots of love and big hugs!

You are so good at explaining why you picked a paper pad in the first place and why or how you combine prints. I'd never looked deeper into it than "I like this" and "I don't like this" lol. Do you have a background in design of any kind oraybe decorating?
@christygetscraftyАй бұрын
I don’t have a background in design or anything creative, I’ve just been a crafty girl all my life and I do have an eye, I think, for how I like things to come together. Design does interest me, so I pick up little rules and suggestions as I come across them and file them away for card making as well.☺️

Question: after you select your patterns how do you put multiple patterns together on a card?
@christygetscraftyАй бұрын
I’ve done a video on this before I think, but it’s probably been a long while so maybe I’ll do an updated version sometime soon!😊

Question: When purchasing a paper pad do you find buying 2 of the same pad helpful because the more bold prints are often on the same page as the more restful prints?
@christygetscraftyАй бұрын
I almost never buy more than one the same pad since there are at least two of every design in there. And I don’t use a whole sheet on a card, so there are always leftover scraps that can be used as well. I hope that helps!☺️
@lisablaus1459Ай бұрын
Suggestion- it would have been helpful/easier if you had separated the pages first, then into solids/tonal, scale/size.
@christygetscraftyАй бұрын
Thank you for that suggestion. I can see how that would be helpful but I don’t really like taking my paper pads apart before use. However, if it would be helpful I might consider doing it once for a more in depth pattern mixing video. I’ll give it some thought.🙂
