Well, its like anything. No one knows how to walk well, ride a bike well, read well, or do anything without practice. And to do something really impressive it takes passion, and dedication to put in the time to make real progress. Sounds like you are on the right track :D

Hey Chris, could you possibly do a how to draw video on depth or proportions? It could be one video or multiple. Anyway just an idea. As adding depth and diemension to my drawings is something I have always struggled with. Keep up the good drawing and I really like this character!

Hey BG, I will see what I can put together. I can think of a few tips that are fairly easy to try for adding depth and structure to your line work. As always, thanks so much for the feedback :D

Why did you stopped this channel
@ChrisWhartonArt Жыл бұрын
I went back to school, and life took me away for a bit. Just couldn't keep up with the channel, but I'm back now, and making videos again. Sorry for going AFK for a while.

i think some people actually born with talent
@ChrisWhartonArt7 жыл бұрын
Oh, I totally agree. The thing is inborn talent isn't why any given master succeeds. Effort, Practice, Grit and Determination, the love of their art to the point of obsession, and their drive to improve, regardless of whether they fail. That is why they succeed. Talent is just an advantage in the beginning, which won't let anyone coast to success.

It’s insulting when someone complements effort because 1, it implies the artist doesn’t have talent, 2 it implies the artist struggled to make the work, 3, it kind of implies the artist failed and got a consolation prize “at least you tried’” 4 it implies anyone could create the art if they just put in enough mindless effort, like counting all the grains of sand on a small beach, 5 it encourages people to write off pursuing art because they think it will take forever to get good, when in reality if they have talent, it will be much faster. At the end of the day, it’s incredibly patronizing.
