I lived a hell of a life have had brothers go down wrong paths drugs and one being killed in the streets. I decided to leave and not keep doing that path. I moved to a new city was homeless for the first year got a few nice vehicles a home and had a daughter i struggled with alcohol to suppress memories of my brothers death. I been sober a while now and at 31 decided i wanted to go to the Military National Guard because i have full custody of my daughter. I listend to this song a lot during my drinking days just wanting to be a better man for my daughter. Today i feel like im really living and have health relationships with her mother and the people in my life i feel my creator protected me in so many events so i could come into the man i am today.

My wife and i been together 10 years now, since i got out of the marines. We have two sons now, got a cabin in the mountains. In our first year, i was dealing with severe anxiety and anger getting out of the Marines. I was acting like a fool, and one day she called said she didnt think she could be with me anymore. I felt like a knife in my heart, she said she was gonna think about it, talk to her gfs, and call me back. When we got off the phone, i hit my knees and begged god for one more chance. Now that I have composed myself after hearing this beautiful song again after years, this song has a different meaning to me. My son was deep in his addiction and life was really hard for me to watch him go down that path. I prayed for his recovery and gave it to God. I dedicated this song(The husband and father he needs to be) to him so he can get back on track to be in his sons and daughters lives. Fast forward 8/2024 this song pops up my algorithm and it reminds me that addiction never goes away completely. Our son is missing and that was his choice, that’s why this song is so sad to me.

yeah this song is so true to my heart I just lost my wife to my anger issues and my wanting to be in control over everything she was my every thing still is so guys out there take the time to think about this you could lose the one you love if you can't or don't want to change God can help if you let him

Yes it definitely hurt, she just left this Saturday. We have two beautiful kids and I couldn't believe how I treated her. I didn't know who to turn to, there was not one person in my life that could give me answers. Until I heard this song, so I turn to him. I've been going to Mass since, he really is always there for you. Thank you for your kind words and I hope the same for you!
