There is something to be said about V1s role in Sisyphus' story. Although Sisyphus may have died by the machine's hands he dies happy as either way he has won, with either him destroying the Heavens or V1, a being that has proven themselves to be a greater force than himself, doing it for him. One must imagine Sisyphus happy, as his end goal will be completed no matter what, and we are his legacy.

Why are you so sure about V1 destroying Heaven? If mining facility's barricades weren't feeble 3 wooden planks, then V1 might've never ventured there and would ran out of fuel on Earth's surface. And what "3 wooden planks" might hold off Creature of Steel from entering it? I bet it isn't as easy. He probably red "Divina Comedie" by Dante Aligheri and thats how Hakita has the same layered hell as Dante (With his own unique twists, of course). With Minos in the second layer and so on. Also Sisyphus a man, from a greek myth, who cheated death 2 times and the gods punished him by making him get a rock up a mountain only for it to fall back every time it reached the top... forever... (absurd, right?) This is how the existentialist philosopher and novelist Albert Camus wrote "The myth of Sisyphus" where he talks about the absurdity of the world and how the human spirit is such as Sisyphus's. He sais that you can always find a reason to commit suicide but you can just accept the absurdity of the world and continue living on because, as the book sais "One must imagine Sisyphus happy". We must imagine ourselves happy trough anything life might throw at us, no matter how inconcievably absurd and undiserved. I suggest you give it a read. :))

One of my greatest problems with Sisyphus's design was the heart in his chest, with Minos it made sense because he was a pacifistic ruler who decided for a peaceful rebellion, so Sisyphus having a heart too makes no sense because he wasn't trying to be good, he was a power hungry warmonger. But the characterization is on point, everything from him even laughing at the end knowing that heaven will fall no matter what is just perfect.

My personal favourite interpretation is that, upon his final death, Hermes (in charge of picking up all the important dead, but also God of Thieves) told Sisyphus he could gain immortality by escaping death a third time. The god gave the mortal a choice. Choice one, the way forward, towards the Elysian Fields, for tricking the gods was a deed of great renown worthy of a great hero. Well, specifically Hermes loves his devious nature, and how the man stole his own soul out from Hades' domain twice, so the god is just playing favourites really. Charmed by this, Sisyphus asks about the second choice. The second option, the way back, would simply require him to push one measly boulder up a hill. Sisyphus being Sisyphus, he tries, and fails just before the very top, as the boulder supernaturally becomes heavier or more slippery. Undaunted he goes to try again. No chains bind him to his mountain. He may take a break, he may take the way out, but he just keeps at it. Kept there by the best jailer the Gods could find - his own stubborn pride.
