@@apolloisnotashirt You don't need to be on the side of the people to be rational. But yes, there are people who are good. Hell, the crew from the Edgerunners was never on the side of people so I don't know where did this question come from. But back to the anserw: - There is, of course, legendary Blackhand who with a single metal hand and a cybernetic eye became the best solo in the entire setting. The reason why I say he is the best despite the fact that he shares the spot with Smasher is that Smasher has more chrome than they both ever had meat. - And during twenties there was a fasion among solos to go minimalistic with their cybernetics and they were taking down heavy cyberpsychos. Solo of fortune (IIRC), the interviewed character mentions how he has seen one such lady at work and he was VERY impressed.

For example, like the girl from Maine's crew before Lucy, maybe she could've done something else to make the downfall of the company instead of flatout sacrificing herself right then and there? @@apolloisnotashirt If I were the player playing that character I would be saving every single eddie and every single favour I could to bank it on that one thing. Or I would have paid off someone much higher in pecking order to do that for me. Either way, there are ways. She could use a swarm of drones. She could have invested in proper, fucking, skinweave and plates under the skin to survive the firefight and get through. She could have someone on the overwatch with a Barret, Arasaka 20mm, an actual 20mm sniper rifle or even 30mm (possibly rocket propelled) canon. That would not be cheap, but it would be possible and you could sell it through some She could have a few good chooms with her. She could infiltrate the system to get very precise info about movement inside or at least pay someone good enough to do it, that is unless this whole building ran on it's own net. Than it would get much more complicated but not impossible. Infiltration would require weeks or months of physical presence. And probably a hundred things more I couldn't think about off the top of my head. But yeah, main character crew are a bunch of unproffesional botchers, one and all. They shouldn't survive most of their encounters.

I dunno. I didn't manage to get attached to the characters. Probably because my brain was internally screaming the entire time I was watching series because WHY THE FUCK NOBODY IS USING A GODDAMNED PSYCHIATRIST! THEY HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO ALMOST TURN INTO THE BORGS AND YET NOBODY IS USING WHAT WAS WIDESPREAD ENOUGH IN THE TWENTIES TO BE STATE MANDATED FOR CERTAIN HIGHLY CHROMED INDIVIDUALS!!!! There is also the fact that show goes FAST. Too fast to properly build up rising cyberpsychosis and give me time to actually like the characters. And finally, similarly to CP2077, it spits at one of the core themes from ttrpg cyberpunk. The celebration of human skill and capability. Cybernetics are anserw to EVERYTHING and nobody seems to see that without building skill first they bocome a crutch you will rely on and get yourself killed because you start acting stupid.
