Oh wow. Yeah, not the greatest bag. For me the two glaring issues is the strap (I'm a big dude so I need more give and I prefer to wear my bags a bit lower near my hip) and the lack of the front pocket stitching. The Alpeka Tech Bag has spoiled me so much when it comes to that extra stitching on the corners of the front pocket. I think it's criminal for bags not to have that. I love the idea of that front pocket naturally expending outwards for stuff like keys and earbuds. It allows for so much room. So yeah, this is an easy pass for me. Another amazing video, Clint! I have a chrome kadet that I absolutely love but I have the personal problem of stuffing it with too much contingency preparedness items. Im commenting because I wear it as a hip pack most of the time, and for me it fits Perfect and comfy solid. Maybe someone considering this might like the kadet instead. I came here tho because I was contemplating something that might weigh less to carry for a more essentialist edc. You helped me realize what I wanted and I’m gonna try their new (A color way special) mini tensile sling, (which incidentally said it was sailcloth instead.) Ive enjoyed several of your videos even tho I’m not a bag collector. Thanks for your reviews!

The most annoying thing for me on this is that mine was not water resistant at all. I don't even remember if it said it was when I bought it over a year ago. I kind of wish I had returned it when I saw the cross pattern wasn't a stitching. Great review.

Chrome is one of those brands that, if I were recommending it to someone, comes with the caveat of "you should wait for sales." Unless you are absolutely enamored by a very specific colorway, and are worried it might sell out within 6 months, you're probably better off holding out. All the more if you find some really funky colorway that you love, but the average Chrome enjoyer might not. (Duck Camo, I'm looking at you!) Great way to get bags on the cheap. A lot of your complaints with the Tensile, I would mirror in their... Helix, I think it's called? Though it can function as a crossbody and hip bag, it was designed as a cycling handlebar bag first and foremost. As such, there is even less organization (not necessarily a bad thing for it's intended purpose) and a much more narrow strap that suffers equally in length. Waterproof and bombproof, though!

Very true. I admire Chrome for their 100% locked in aesthetic and willingness to experiment…but man do I find their pockets lacking!

Gotta agree with being disappointed with their design choices when it comes to organisation. other brands do that better, but I've always liked chrome's materials, specifically the welterweight series. Hard agree with the bottle pockets. If it can't hold a standard nalgene, what's the point?

I wrote to Chrome saying they need to made bags that has added strap length for bigger people like me , the Kadet and Kadet max fits fine , the Citizen is soo tight on me that it bothers me , I did get it duck camo is the cost was very cheap for chrome or any bag of the same qty. I see chrome has these new bags , they dont look like the same company makes Them ,

That external material looks like Dyneema. Used a lot in the climbing world. Extremely high tensile strength and almost no stretch.

Just found your channel and have been on a binge. Great content. I’ve been looking for a bag to have all my electronics in and I’ve come across two options. tomtoc 9l sling bag and the Everki 106 light compact backpack. I prefer a small 2 strap bag with a hidden back pocket for security reasons in the airport, but also big enough for a 14 in laptop. Have you ever considering doing a review for that backpack or are maybe aware if that company produces well made bags? Would love to know your thoughts! Thank you!

What are your thoughts on Osprey? Is it comparable to brands like Chrome Industries and Alpaka etc? Also would you be willing to do a review on their new Aoede Airspeed backpack?

Osprey is on my list. Great quality but very very different than some of those other brands - as the DNA of the company is in ultralight hiking packs.

I'm looking at some Chrome Industries bags, but the obnoxious logos they put on the front is a deal breaker. If I used a seam ripper to cut the stitching holding the logo on, would it leave visible holes in the underlying material?

My experience is that yes, when you take a seam ripper to a logo or a hook and loop patch, unless it is a black material you almost always see the holes
