I have ileostomy and other chronic health including FAP. I drink more than 4l a day but after colon removsl water tends to bypass kidneys and so kidney failure happens. Don't be so judgemental. You don't know what people go through! I don't drink, smoke, take drugs, ate healthily, exercised. Now I can't eat due to hernias n reflux disease. Now organs starting to fail. I've got 5yrs max. I dare you to tell me its all my fault!

Ps Lyme disease since July, diabetes but expected it after pancreatitis since ileostomy surgery 17yrs ago. Life is a mere existence now and I've stopped eating due to pain swallowing n acute GORD. NHS didn't warm me of all these conditions caused by having a total procolectomy and full hysterectomy aged 38.

The definition of CKD presented here is inconsistent with guidelines first developed in 2002 with KDIGO (Kidney Disease Improving Global Outcomes) 2012 and 2017 updates. These are generally accepted CKD and AKI guidelines although division and debate does exist regarding the basis for specific GFR levels applied as they are somewhat arbitrary. See my comment.

Try looking up healing scriptures online or maybe all the bible is healing I don't know. Pray every day in Jesus' name and always Tithe faithfully. Me n my family have been healed through my Tithing many many times also. 'Healing prayer' utube videos have been very healing for me also.

My mom is diagnosed with CKD and high blood pressure :(( i feel devastated after hearing the news because she just got an operation on her breast because it has lump last month. Our family has always been struggling financially since i was still a child, I'm so tired of hearing their problems about money but I can't help anything abt it cause I'm still a minor. And now, here we go again, another health issue. My mom is the probably the kindest person I've ever met in my entire life, sometimes i just hate her for being too selfless. She always put others first before herself. She Said she's alright but i know she's not. She have so many medicine to drink and she's said she's tired of drinking her meds. But I'm here always reminding her to drinkher meds. Now, she's weak, her headaches come and go, she's bloated, she lost appetite, always tired, always sleeping, her face is so puffy and her BP go up and down. It's hard not to get stressed for her because she have anger management and my siblings is always stressing her out, they're always not in home, and ask her many stuff like 'ma where is this and that'. So i prefer not to talk that much I don't want to trigger her anger. Problems is all over our head. family problem, financial, physical, and mental. If only were rich, we don't have to have a double thought about spending money. I don't know what to do anymore.... I'm only 14 :(( i hope my mom get well. I hope everything goes well. I hope everything is going to be fine of us soon. I still want to spend my time with her. Thank you for this video, I'm watching vids and researching to get knowledge about CKD so i can help my mom even in small ways💗 Edit: 2 months after, she died:(( my mom is gone

I have CKD. I am 65 years old and my GFR floats between 54-58, which is stage 3a. I am not sure if GFR reading is from one kidney or both. My Dad died of CKD when he was 82 and was on dialysis for about 2 years. I am doing as much as I can to not let it get worse. I think my GFR has been static for about 5 years, and really not getting worse. If I can somehow get it back above 60, then I would have stage 2, which is almost normal for my age. I do have stress in my life, but try to eat healthy, and drink water. I never did drugs, alcohol, tobacco, etc... and have an average build, walk and play tennis.

Fantastic video showing how the kidneys are impacted by CKD. One additional data point is that I believe it is also important to not only monitor your GFR, but also the protein leakage in your urine. Data shows those with a higher amount of protein leakage are more likely to see their GFR decline and would have a higher potential to one day need dialysis.

Yes and no. Medicine isnt some predictible thing. I think that body need all nutrition ingredients. Meat, protein lipids all is needed. I have a little problems with my kidneys and im 32 and since 20 I eat too much sugar products and i dont eat protein s. So as I believe I need protein also to cure my kidneys. I believe that a little damage in kidneys is curable

I am thinking a change in diet may be key. I had to research what it even was because no one gave me any information. I have quit taking ibuprofen for one, also my multi vitamins and cholesterol medication because I found those things can make it worse. Well I have CKD Stage 3b caused by Neonatal Acute Kidney Injury so was not caused by lifestyle. Also, I was prem baby at birth. I'm still here nearly 38 years later with yearly monitoring. Have not had much symptoms so I am still physically healthy.

No shitty words, just on point just on topic and straightforward. Thanks!

Definition of CKD in video appears to be incorrect as you can have CDK with a normal GFR of over 90. For example Stage 1 CDK is kidney damage (e.g. hematuria and proteinuria) with a glomerular filtration rate 90+.

I had Conn's disease until they removed the adrenal gland that had the tumor. Now I have CKD. My eGFR is 57. I'm 56 years old. My BP is well controlled with Amlodipine (a CCB) now. I don't use NSAIDs, smoke, or drink alcohol. Is there anything else I can do? Should I see a nephrologist?
