It’s definitely weird, it makes their trolling video of Demi and Selena a lot more sinister. It’s a 21 year old woman bullying 15 year old girls. It’s an example of Miley not being able to be a teenager and growing up too soon.
@cakt19918 ай бұрын
@@SJ-ni6iy plus Miley was literally dating a 20 year old (Justin Gaston) around that time?! My jaw dropped when I saw the bit where Selena was rumored to be thirsting over him. Plus, with Demi also having dated some older guys, it really shows how all of them had to grow up too fast. I wouldn’t be shocked if Disney did a similar thing they did at Nickelodeon (like with Jennette and Ariana) by playing into the feud, and encouraging the rift between the girls to make it so they didn’t trust each other.
@cakt19918 ай бұрын
@dd4850 I don’t think it’s fair to blame her without conclusive proof for what’s been proven to be a systemic issue throughout the industry, one that also impacted Demi and Selena. Mitchel Musso, who played Oliver, later had a DUI that resulted in Disney largely cutting ties. You can run off a list of other Disney stars for whom alcohol and substances are/were a problem: Shia LaBeouf, Lalaine (Lizzie McGuire), Christy Carlson Romano, Orlando Brown, Adam Hicks. And then there’s the Nick stars, and other child stars. Drew Barrymore spent nights at Studio 54 as a child. The problem is that these kids weren’t allowed to be kids. As Demi once said, “If you’re going to work me like an adult, I’m going to party like one.”

I feel so bad for Miley being groomed not only by romantic partners but also by her "friends." Yes, platonic grooming can happen when a much older person is hanging out with a literal child in a context that isn't explicitly seen by both as babysitting. Mandy was 21 and hanging out with a 15 year old Miley, and dynamics like that will make the child feel like acting their age is embarrassing. Instead of developing at a normal pace, they rush into mature activities without having the brain development or experience to be able to handle it. On top of that, it's even worse if the older person is looking at other kids the child's age and calling them "cringe" for acting their age, strongly influencing the child to alienate herself from other kids her age because she won't want to be associated with normal, age appropriate behaviors and people. I know a lot of people think that Miley was a mean girl, but it seems like the result of all sorts of grooming to me. You can tell by the fact that she's an incredibly kind and warm person now that she's older and able to think for herself, away from shitty influences.

Mandy girl being 21 mocking Demi is WILD. That would embarrass me for the rest of my life acting like that.

Imagine all this drama... but English is your second language, you're only 10 years old, and you're trying to figure out what the Lyrics of 7 Things mean. It was messy times.

It's so funny to me that Taylor Swift got into the disney channel drama. And Kevin Jonas was the only one who didn't do anything lmao.

This was my life. 1. I was a Demi stan and she had music out on her Myspace. 2. Not mentioning Jasmine V and how she was on the same pilot as Selena and ended up dating Justin Bieber at the same time but wasnt claimed is tragic.

As someone who was not watching Disney at that time since I was in my 20s, I really appreciated this video. It explained so much I have wondered but didn't want to do the research myself.

the fact I remember Selena/Justin and Miley/Liam better shows how much any Nick relationship was mid

@KrissyKayyy I'm not saying they were perfect; but they were certainly more memorable than Miley and Selena dating Nick, just because Nick is so bland even Miley and Selena couldn't make him memorable
