The public does tend to believe that chronic illness diagnoses are static, unchanging things. That is *very much* not the case. It's difficult enough dealing with what is constant, but the guesswork in managing changing symptoms drives us just as crazy.

I wish we had the Oreo cereal here in Canada too! Also, for pulled pork, the simplest way to make it is... put pulled pork in the slow cooker submerged in root beer. Cook for 6-8 hours in slow cooker. Drain, shred, and mix with BBQ sauce. If you want it extra flavourful, put it back in the slow cooker for 1-2hrs on low.

I do the same recipe for the pork. However it won't shred if it isn't in there long enough. 6-8 hours at least. The longer it's in there the more tender and easier to chew and digest, it will get. After shredding let it sit in the sauce a little longer and absorb it. I think I know what I'm making for dinner now 😋

I really like your videos and have watched many of them! Especially the ones about Harlow! I have a service dog myself to help me with my deafness. And if you wonder how I can hear what you say in your videos, it is because I partially read your lips but also use my Cochlear implants. I also admire you for your openness about your chronic illnesses.

My dad is nearly 100% deaf and also lip reads. I am trying to get all my videos professionally captioned for the deaf and HOH community (: The KZbin auto captions are not very accurate, as I am sure you know lol!
@karilyn10947 жыл бұрын
Auto captions can be really hilarious, especially when KZbin tries to auto generate the British English accent. You are American so I think KZbin has an easier time auto generating subtitles for your videos. Either way, I like that you face your camera as often as you can. It makes it a lot easier to read your lips. :D... And it makes it a bit more personal too. I have to read lips because as awesome as Cochlear implants can be, they are not perfect. And the same can be said for auto generated captions!!! Do you use sign language with your father or is his deafness the result of age?

It makes me happy to see you eating different foods and taking joy in the taste even though your illnesses make it hard to eat much. I've had many digestive issues since I was a kid. In fourth grade I think I was absent at least one day a week because I felt so ill. So over the years I've tried cutting out various foods that I thought might be part of the problem (like pork) and tried introducing foods I thought might help (like yogurt). I was also on daily medications for two years. Some of it has helped, others not so much. But I still love food. I hope you keep enjoying food and life in general. Also Harlow is so pretty and smart.

My orthotist recommended stiff sole shoes because regular soles plus my floppy ankles made my leg muscles have to work extra hard.
