Thank you, Jamie! Personally, I’ll end 5.3’s first half with around 200 pulls and will try to snipe a single Citlali, and maybe Mavuika if I’m lucky. After that, I’m doubtful… Looking at constellations, I don’t see the need to go for Arlecchino C2 or Clorinde C1, and even Furina C2 doesn’t seem as valuable to me as it’s usually hyped up to be. I’ll probably save for Skirk and maybe Xilonen C1 + C2 since I love using Navia! Merry Christmas!

She was very close to Xiao's banner with Xianyun though; I think many people high light this because it was the first time she was on a banner besides Wanderer and also because Xianyun was a pickup for Xiao mains, meaning anyone wanting copies of Faruzan for Xiao could also get her while trying for Xianyun. I recall many CCs saying that / implying it was good for Xiao mains even back then despite Faruzan herself not actually being on *Xiao's* banner. Which was still lame but probably since most Xiao mains already have him C6 or know better than to get his constellations.

As an F2P player, Childe International doesn't cut it anymore for me personally. The team carried me throughout the entire 4.x versions... But i'm not able to do it anymore in the recent abyss cycles. Geo shields, Pyro res enemies, Single Target oriented chambers, i feel like at f2p levels of investment, Childe International is kinda dying. The abyss cycles recently have been actively countering this team.

International's investment requirement is high, it's just not necessarily from the money side. There aren't that many options to whale on the team, but it is extremely sensitive to the quality of your artifacts (particularly on Xiangling and Childe). In past years when EoSF was one of the best places to dump your resin anyway, that wasn't that big of an issue because burning all your resin there was what a lot of people did by default, so you just eventually ended up with a cracked Xiangling set. Even after 4.0, EoSF was one of the best sets in the strongbox, so many people continued improving it that way. But now we have better sets in both domains AND the strongbox, as well as many characters that want them, dumping all of your resin and fodder into improving EoSF sets is not necessarily a great use of your resin when you have newer characters with more impactful sets that want you to use your resources on those instead. If you already had a great Xiangling from having farmed EoSF for years, it will continue to be good, but if your Xiangling isn't that good, it might not be worth the effort to bring her up to par anymore.

I feel like the Mistsplitter vs Absolution difference is...overstated for anyone who's not a speedrunner here, with the main thing just being how it can restrict your rotation, but that mostly only matters for particular setups to shave a few seconds off that normal players don't really need to worry about. I can't remember a single time when I've gotten full energy before the end of her field time. There's no argument that Mistsplitter is better but according to the calcs I've seen it's only about 6% worse if those specific limitations don't matter. So in a case like this where Absolution is gonna be rerunning with a weapon that's basically useless for non-Arlecchino havers, I can't really recommend people pull for it in a lot of cases. The thing about her having a lot more vulnerability to stagger than Keqing is definitely true though

I wouldn't even say Hu Tao and the Lunar New Year thing is a reason anymore. Her first banner they swept her inclusion under the rug more or less and made it after. Then she came back around Halloween, and finally her third rerun was literally during the lantern rite patch. Granted it was second phase and I can't remember if it overlapped with a lunar new year day at all but still. She's clearly going to be a main person involved in the quest just like she was with her rap (and back then she made a crude reference to her job that she got called out on, even though her response made sense) so they obviously aren't worried about that. They genuinely should have just had her instead of Childe. She did recently have a rerun though didn't she? Perhaps that's why

Kind of crazy to me people are upset with their decision about changing the rules. Like they set the rules, they can decide when to break them. I vaguely remember finding the rule a bit strict way back but wrote it off because none of us expected them to just never freaking rerun her... and they literally did other reruns super quick before so really it could have been a non issue. My thought a while ago was that she'd be back as a normal rerun during lantern rite and that we'd get a Liyue chronicled for everyone else. That way she qualifies for later ones and all. But then... lol. People expected chronicled to occur more frequently and for longer periods of time. The only unfortunate thing is the way the guarantee works. I feel like it should take your main banner pity into account as a starting point, or they should do something to make it remember your old chronicled pity. idk. But I get why people who had pity or a guarantee saved up for some of these reruns might be upset with it.

Good video, you do have quite a different approach to most content creators here (or in general, honestly) and I think it's great Personally, I'm getting Ganyu and cons for Keqing (Ganyu just to have her and not for any meta reasons, and Keqing because 1) I main her and 2) she's already C2 meaning I already have the trash cons, the other ones, while not great compared to modern constellations, still do buff her quite a bit. Since I'm not getting any other electro main dps any time soon, I'm pretty happy about finally seeing her on a banner, I thought I'd never see the day)

I think realistically the only way it’s worth pulling is if they guarantee your chosen weapon or let you choose both the main course weapon and then a second banner weapon that can be your 50/50 loss so it’s closer to an actual weapon banner.

I have C3 Keqing, with PJC, its a top 2 or 3% build. I usually play her with Fischl (on a very good build and Elegy), C2R1 Nahida (that also hits like a truck) and Zhongli. Im very happy with her, im not even considering Clorinde or other dpses. I also have C3R1 Tighnari that i can replace her with or a cracked Yelan for hyperbloom (this is stronger than the other teams). So i can always change my second abyss side, while Neuv destroys the first. Still waiting for Furina and Itto weapons now....

Regarding DPSs, I'm with you - if I like a DPS I'll pull/play them even if they're weak or powercrept. But the exact same thing is true of supports (at least for me). I'm not going to look at a character I like and think, "I would pull/play them if they were a DPS, but ehh, they're a weak support so maybe not." If anything, because the opportunity cost of running a support is lower, it's easier to slot one into a team without impacting my experience too much.

The only gripe I had about this is that this banner is in the 2nd half, I have 200 pulls, I was gonna get Shenhe first then depending on luck get Mavuika(if I lost both 50-50, then it's not enough to get Mavuika), but with this banner being 2nd half, I have to stop pulling on Mavuika banner if I lost 50-50(I have to save 150 pulls to guarantee Shenhe), but then if I don't lose 50-50 on Shenhe, then I have 75 pulls left, but no Mavuika...

So to answer the question about Hu Tao not being in Chronicled Wish, there’s also the restriction that there needs to be a significant amount of time passed between their last rerun (she ran last patch) to be considered eligible on top of the two-rerun restriction too (which Hoyo loosened to one for Shenhe’s case). Same thing for Yelan since I guess her 4.8 rerun was too short in Hoyo’s eyes

For me, the issue with Shenhe is she is supposed to be a support for cryo dps and she is right now only a support for Ayaka. That's very underwheming ! Ganyu and Wriothesley doesn't want her. Ayaka have some others options include apparently Citlali who is a lot more valuable for an account. Chasca best melt team will be with: Citlali, Mavuika and Bennett. I don't think she will be good with news cryo dps too. Things will probably be worse than before because now news characters have their best teams with characters from their regions !

it focuses on buffing her charge attacks whereas other weapons buff other damage sources

It's not so much that it requires her to not burst, it's that the calcs that put it significantly ahead of other weapons are based on the assumption that you will only use charged attacks. Most Ganyu Melt TC you will find on the internet will assume that she does not use her burst (based on the outdated belief that she shouldn't for fear of it stealing melts), but Ganyu speedrunners figured out years ago that using Burst on Melt Ganyu is still a DPS gain even if it sometimes results in a lost melt. When accounting for her burst, it's not THAT much better than other weapons.

I have Shenhe C0 rn on fav lance, my previous plans were to save up to get C1 + CQ...but since she didn't rerun in so long I had decided to save for furina C0-C3. So if chronicled is in 2nd half, I'll know via official or leaks who is in 5.4 and if it's furina I'll just have to get Shenhe's C1 only and skip CQ. Cuz when I saw the chronicled banner I was like noooo, my furina+cons funds are in danger...but I MUST have her C1. I also was considering shenhe's C2...but Xilonen's C2 seems much better for me since I play Navia heavily Do you have CQ as well?

I beat the abyss with Keqing 4 star weapons and no limited 5 star cons but it is massively harder so I just go Neuvi on the other side. IDK if you need all those cons and weapons on her support teams though

Unless you mean you saved pity in limited banner to get her and don't have enough primos to guarantee in chronicle, the chronicle banner is in all aspects a better deal then getting her in limited banner. Unless you want the standard banner characters for your own reasons. Even if you find the old liyue 5 stars useless or mid. The standard characters are equally useless or mid. So it's basically the same.

@@Evitzeoshowerthoughts I regard mona c4, Tighnari c2 and Jean c4 superior. Don't mind getting c6 Dehya. Unlike limited banners , everyone is probably gonna end up 1 copy of the liyue chrono banner which is not something desirable. I have a C2 keqing which is benched because of me having all the other better Electro 5* and C2 Childe benched. The others I don't need to stress, Baizhu is unwanted for me and mid, Overall the banner is lame, Shenhe could have came back with Xianyun or Ayaka, now she's inside the compium Liyue Choronicle that I won't likely ever touch.

Because almost nobody owns Wrio as he is a male character and was released at a time where a lot of more appealing characters were releasing mainly neuv and furina. Ayaka was this game's most hyped unit for a good bit pre 2.X and then had a massive run during 2.X when freeze was at its peak. So just from ownership alone its gonna be massively in ayakas favor not to mention that the people who own ayaka likely care more about abyss compared to those who own wrio. Usage stats are about tons of different things and viability is a minor fraction of it. Zhongli is one of the most used units and he sure af aint optimal for damage.

The only useless units there are qiqi and keqing. Baizhu, childe and xiao are above average. Ganyu is mid and shenhe is also mid. Wrio also is better, 100x more flexible does big dmg. Ayaka is amazing and does big dmg but she’s locked to freeze only and freeze isn’t cutting it in most abyss patches. Wrio is obviously not used as much since he literally hasn’t had his rerun yet obviously ayaka will have a higher usage than him when she’s had way more banners. Not to mention her banners were when cryo was used at a higher rate since the freeze reaction actually worked in abyss with freezable enemies meaning more people have her.
