I’ve felt pretty bleh about the Natlan characters because of Nightsoul’s Blessing. I hope they don’t keep this trend going where each major patch has a family of characters that work well in their own region and with each other and that’s it. It’s a bleh thought that the possibilities are limited like this. I saw the writing on the wall with the first batch and here we are.

Chasca is a great character in pretty much all regions. Great at exploration, great at dishing a lot of damage. Team her up with 3 other different elements and you can pretty much fight any enemy without switching a teammate for specific element immune enemies. Basically a better wanderer in every aspect.

Clorinde is way underrated, she does tons of damage, she just doesn't do nuke damage so you won't get the really big numbers. Instead she's "death by a thousand cuts" with multiple fast medium damage hits, she's also effectively immortal. She moves so fast that enemies barely hit her, and she self heals more than enough to offset any hits she does receive.

Wait till official release reviews. Her E is raiden E if it actually did damage, completely replacing Xiangling pyro app in most teams, just not all teams. Even solo Natlan she will be able to ult every rotation with just her own Nightsoul usage and a few normal attacks. Still will do massive damage. Also she power creeps exploration which is huge as well.... in terms of "pull value"

That's real. I'm guaranteed with 10 pity and 80 wishes. Previously I was gonna pull for mavuika thinking that she'll be a good Pyro dps but after seeing that she's extremely reliant on other natlan characters, I'd rather skip her and save my wishes. And for ppl saying she's a power creep for exploration, please do not listen to them.. it's not worth dumping your wishes just to get a character who's good at "exploring" (especially if you're f2p like me) Also it's better to invest more in xiangling since, well, her attack mechanic is similar to mavuika and with good investments she can almost reach mavuika's dps. I agree with what you said.. 1st archon I'm disappointed with.

Mavuika's largest flaw is her future potential. After natlan arch ends we hardly are going to see new nightsoul characters. Sure venti's potential is slower, but to all other archons they surely get new characters who work well with them. Who knows maybe some day we get new end game gamemode for large groups of enemies then venti's top potential start anew. Or some gravity control character who makes enemies weight less to get into venti's burst. I'm imagining bosses getting throw around by vortex. It would be fun to see.

Just don't bother with mavuika unless you plan on getting xilo/citlali or want to replace xl in kinich/mualani. Also people saying copechina can substitute xilonen is in massive denial

ganyu melt is very clunky i would say, i miss ganyu freeze more than anything but sadly only lower abyss floor had the condition for this team to shine. By the way, yes its easier to melt with nahida, but it is still kinda clunky.. unless you are very good at timing and dodging, you would need a shielder.. which will bring down the damage a lot since you cant bring anemo shred

In defense of Clorinde: She is VERY flexible and has good AoE & Single target dmg. Aggrevate, Hyperbloom, Chev Overload, Electro-charged (Ororon or Fischl)... she even works with c6 sara if you got that, or with a double geo core. If you just got the event sword that gives a ton of stats while shielded, she's even better. Especially with Lan Yan coming out.

Ye I've gonna over every metric I know for comparing dps and she was at her release top 5. Now with mavuika, kinich and mualani, she got bumped down by 3 places at least while already being behind arlechinno, neuvillette, lyney etc in dps.

@@putent9623 You can't overlook her versatility though. Mualani & Kinich have one good reaction, Lyney has two reactions... Clorinde has 4, one of which is even better now with Mauvika. If you want flexibility for abyss or theatre she's pretty dang useful. Newish players can more easily make do with what units they have instead of having to save wishes for specific ones. She also makes use of low-demand defensive units like Kirara, Thoma, or Dehya instead of something like kuki or bennett. Finally, she makes better use of a craftable 4* (or the recent event sword), than most top dps. She might not be among the very top, but she still has tons of great qualities that shouldn't be overlooked.

Anyone unsure about replacing zhongli with citlali, Zhongli gives a 20 percent res shred by default and if you get used to archaic petra zhongli that gives you a 35 percent elemental buff to one element, close to scroll buff. His shield is still stronger as well. Of course Citlali is a great unit who can use thrilling tales and scroll, but only pull her if you like her!

If your Mualani is cracked, Mavuika is actually a really good cinder city artifact holder plus the 30ish+% decaying DMG bonus to on-field characters after casting her burst. Mavuika pyro application also aligns with Mualani attack interval for the consistent vaporize.

I feel like what people don't realize about the Baizhu vs Yaoyao is how easy Baizhu can heal. He can heal more than 2000+ with a single tap of his skill or more with his burst. And it's party wide. When I play Yaoyao, I need to run to heal while with Baizhu's, he can do that with one tap of the burst or skill activation. It can be activated then rotate to another character. He is more like Jean to me than Yaoyao.

Speaking about damage: If you're gonna summon a single unit to carry you through the game, go for Arlecchino. All she needs is some shielder and any of the usual supports. Mavuika works best with other Natlan characters, so if you go for her, do it if you intend to summon other Natlan characters like Citlali. Apparently Clorinde is underrated. For the rest of them, they've been powercrept. But this is a PvE game and fairly easy, so summon the characters you like and enjoy. Speaking about mobility: Mavuika, clearly. Gamechanger in Natlan. Citlali is a rare cryo shielder support. Don't have many of those. Her cryo application being stuck behind nightsoul points is the only annoying part. Haven't fully built her yet, but at lvl 70, it's pretty annoying to get her skill to do the off-field damage without using her burst. Baizhu excellent healer and the healing of his elemental skill is very reliable, so if you usually don't like playing around energy, he's pretty nice (same with Mavuika, mostly skill centric gameplay).

I was so hyped for Mavuika. But once I found out that she would more or less be exclusively limited to Natlan Teams, I was pretty disappointed. I liked Fontaines Characters as while they had gimicks, such as HP drain or Bond Of Life, they didn't really effect their team comps too much. But now, with Mavuika, her gimick is limiting the amount of players or teams she can run effectively. I am just, super disappointed. All I got is Kachina and Ororon and I am not sure that would be enough to make her worthwhile compared to the likes and F2P friendliness of Arle. So, still unsure, but I got time.

Yep, I’m a collector but if I wasn’t I wouldn’t pull for her. It’s crazy to require another limited 5 star (which is the one on the same banner 🤦🏽‍♀️ Hoyo) and Xilonen to make her super good. Pryo traveler can work with her but I know a lot of people who don’t have them built or who haven’t done the required side quests to level them. It’s a shame honestly because she has a cool design.

I agree 1000%, i was already thinking the same thing long before watching this video and I generally find the new Natlan characters' kits very tricky most of the time. Anyway, I am pulling for Father and her weapon.

Pumped to get C1 Clorinde! If anyone else is debating, I honestly have had so much fun with her compared to many other characters and think it’s a shame many haven’t gotten the chance to see her potential and think she is so fun to use, maybe not the top META for damage but is still very strong, and she is more versatile for different teams or playstyles than typically credited, encourage you to consider her! On a different note, Natlan has become a complete skip for me. I’m very disappointed with Hoyo’s direction for Mavuika especially despite being initially so thrilled, she seems far too limited and I can’t get over how disappointing it is to be forced to play with her bike instead of her powers (or the bike existing at all, let alone her exploration not even working outside of the region, completely making it nonsensical to pull her). Likely skipping her and may possibly get on a re-run but even then that’s unlikely because it’s basically pointless with other characters that will ideally be more useful or aesthetically pleasing (I’m so sick of these gimmicks) on the horizon (still holding out hope that Capitano becomes playable and then and only then, and only if I have excess primos, I might get Mavuika too so my Fire and Ice ship can sail!) Great coverage, thanks so much, very well done with fantastic insight and comparisons (the pros and cons are so relevant and useful and help inform wise considerations!) and always so helpful or just fun to hear others perspectives on characters/uses!

That just sounds stupid to me no offense because you have one ,if not the best dps in the game and a character that can make said character easier to play but you don't want to because hoyo made get restrictive when you have a character to bypass that restriction

I'm at 60 pity on a 50/50. If i get Mavuika, in the next 30 or so pulls, I'll stop there and save for Chlorinde. Well, its really Lan Yan's constellations that I want, but the DnD nerd is a bonus.

I am still using Keqing since 1.0 Genshin Impact ; when i got her back then she is my main dps ; and she is broken ; no offense to anyone ( Also got all of the top DPS including 1 hit Raiden combo and still not using it Keqing is to chill to play vs all game content) ; i just build her Physical Damage ; she hits around 15k-35k dmg auto attack she does around 7x-12x attacks in 3 seconds ; the atk speed is busted and paired with a good support she melts ; especially if you use Qiqi or any cryo buff off Field will make Keqing freeze enemy - Paper Armor and her 20x autos will do 200k dmg in 5seconds ... she melts through all content in-game and i have her S1 by luck so her Q is fast cd for mobility ; I know it is wrong way to use her like that , but Physical Damage -> ALL Content its called mastering Genshin on EZ Level ; but all enemies in game except GEO bosses literally you can melt through them with physical Damage ; its broken with enough atk /crit rate and Keqing insane atk speed .... But thats just my personal Meta to do 200k in 5sec on 20 attacks fast and clear any content without meta without worry and thats S1 Keqing

first thing i have to say: pyro traveler. they will likely consume nightsoul points as well, meaning they could possibly work with mavuika. i'm just hoping we don't have a kit with the same value as the hydro one. second thing: i'm not sure if i should try to get xiao (i have characters such as xianyun, faruzan, and bennett that can work with him) or a c1 childe to reduce that cooldown of his. any advice? if you need to know, i'm f2p, but that doesn't change much aside from the fact that i'll have to spend a little more time than others building him and the chance of me getting a weapon for xiao is low, but i can probably make do with white tassel, or i can do what i do best and make a wacky but functional build for him. my childe is fully built, so a constellation would just make him better/a little easier to play, however an anemo dps could be nice. not sure what to do here

I skipped entire natlan and saving, now she does require xilonen or citlali or other natlan characters...... wow its better for me to skip, her team comps are so limited and i think there isn't a team without natlan units to do optimal damage. Also seeing the pattern of alrechino getting powercrept so fast, i wouldn't be surprised when there will be other powercreep

To be fair she hasn’t power crept Arlecchino, Arlecchino, like Neuvillette can solo/work with multiple teams while to get any of the big numbers with Mavuika you need two 5 stars and her weapon. I saw one f2p showcase and she was doing the same amount of damage as my poorly built Kinich and Raiden. I think it was a stupid decision on Hoyo’s part to add Citlali to the same banner and make her so reliant on 5 star Natlan characters, idk anyone who built/plays the free Kachina and while I love my traveler/have him leveled, many people don’t so the pryo traveler might not be a viable option for most.

I personally prefer using Baizhu over YaoYao because he's a pure healer in both skill and burst. I tend not to like it when the healing mechanism is only on the burst because unlike a skill, a burst takes a bit longer to build up. This is also why I love Sigewinne since her Healing is in her skill. I say this because I've been on the brink of death and Baizhu always brings me back. That's just my personal preference though. I won't be trying to pull for Baizhu though, he's amazing already. Mavuika maybe limited, but I'd rather pull for her than Arlecchino since I just don't like her playstyle, it felt too similar to Xiao's- High Risk/High Reward. And I'd rather play a char that's 'comfier'. That being said, I will be pulling for Mavuika if I like her kit since I really need a Pyro DPS unit now since I want to start prepping for Snezhnaya. I've just finished building Xilonen, so she's ready to go since she will be in that team. I never worry about the meta either. It breaks my heart since Cryo is my fav element, but right now I don't need any Cryo chars, but I still may give in and get Citlali since she's giving me Layla vibes (who's my fav 4 star char, I love her kit). I do have plenty of Primos, but I am very conservative for a reason. I am holding out for Iansan too since I want to see what kind of kit she'll have since I am looking for more Electro chars (I never got Ororon due to not wanting to focus on elemental reactions that involve Hydro atm).

I see what youre talking about, i also prefer the skill healing compared to bursts which are usually harder to regenerate. But doesnt yao yao skill heal you? Thats why I use her fairly often when i need a healer and dont already have one in my team. Or did i misunderstand, it just sounded like you were saying that yao yao cant heal with her skill

@@idrawchaos While I technically have Yao Yao, I haven't done anything with and the times I've done her trial or used her for events, I just recall her burst being the one that healed. I could be wrong of course. I'll just look up her skill again because I know that's when she throws her companion.

My wishing roadmap of 5.3 is going first Weapon banner. It doesn’t matter if i lost on other signature’s. It’s win-win for me. (I can fill WGS on Mavuika , Thousand Float Dreams on Citlali )Then going Citlali’s banner (Guarantee btw) . And then betting my luck on mavuika.(If i lost on 50/50 it’s okay, I will use my guarantee on Arlecchino)

Get Shenhe if you really like her since Cryo and Geo tend to have long waits for reruns. Just be careful since the Chronicle banner doesn't share a pity with the other banners. Previous archons always run once per nation, so a Furina banner is reasonable. If you like her, then she is definitely worth a pull as the strongest support in the game.

Furina is definitely worth an investment. Walk on water. Great healing. Damage boost. Plus, she's fun in general. She works well with pretty much every team.

I think my bigger question is on the weapons. The first phase claymore seems like a decent universal option, to the point I’m seriously considering rolling for it ignoring the fact mauvika will be my third limited 5 star lmao I’d appreciate seeing a weapon banner appraisal guide, specifically rating weapons on how universal or how much they boost a specific character, I know that the current book running with Neuvillette is one such specialized weapon, but it’s probably not worth rolling for since Zhongli’s weapon Ain’t Great lmao

Citlali's weapon is also not good on anybody other than her and baizhu ig, so do think if it's worth risking your primos for a almost useless weapon or collect enough to expand your roster, not to mention there are going to be some really great reruns and new characters that are coming soon like furina rerun, skirk, etc. so do think before pulling

Quick question: With Mavuika C1 - it stats she get 120 FS and her skills gives 80 FS - so then she doesnt need nathlan chars correct? 200 FS is her cap, right? correct me if im wrong

C1 makes her skill give 150 FS. Her nightsoul points go to 120, and she gets 125% of those 120 nightsoul points spent as fighting spirit, so 150 FS. It means she can burst every rotation without another Natlan character, yes. You'll still want to use one if you can for on-field Mavuika, though, since Citlali and especially Xilonen are really good for her, but you don't HAVE to, and it makes using her as an off-field pyro applier in non-Natlan teams much more reliable.

As a arle main for hell too many months she does really good damage with three weapon like white tassel so i am pulling for clorinde(because i love her play style) and arle's weapon. and would suggest people to pull for arle specially new players.

I really want both Xiao and Baizuh, but i'm not sure I'm gonna be pulling at all. I was concidering Mauvrika for a moment but I just can't with her design and the bike and knowing she works best with other Natlan characters is the final nail in that coffin, i feel. I'm not sure how long the Chronicled Wish banner will be available, I think I might put some pulls towards it if it's in second half and there's no one I wanna pull for in 5.4. I don't wanna pull on it before I have 180 wishes saved up ....which seems like a steep investment. Tbh I have plenty of units to build up, I don't necessarily need more 😅

Citlali will bring more value to your account in general and for Mavuika if you don't plan to go invest a lot into Mavuika (e.g. C2R1). And even if you want to do that I'd go for Citlali now and maybe got for her weapon on a rerun. It's about 24% better than F2P options, but Mavuika and Citlali with F2P weapons are basically equivalent.
