Welcome to Part 5 of this (spoiler-free) Learn to Play video series for the co-operative dungeon-crawler board game Chronicles of Drunagor: Age of Darkness, by Creative Games Studio.
In this video, we return to Maya & Lordwrath, whose hunt for another valuable tome takes them into the thick of battle.
Corrections & Clarifications:
- Maya's crossbow weapon has a text description which prevents it from being used multiple times during the same action. This was overlooked, in this video.
- At 29:52, the blue and black cubes are the wrong way around. (Black curse cubes cannot be placed on equipment cards).

It’s also probably worth mentioning that a tie for strongest hero is broken by whoever is earlier on the initiative track. Some of the other targeting keywords flip this to target whoever is further back on the initiative track.

Thank you so much for your work and effort. I really enjoy this series and it helped me a lot. We finished chepter 3 of the campaign and still struggle a bit with the rouls. Thx

Thanks for the feedback! Having worked on these vids, I agree that there's a suprising amount of depth and complexity to the rules.

Excellent video but if i'm not mistaken, you cannot attack twice with Maya equipped with the current crossbow. It says you can only make a single attack from each attack action you take or receive. So i think this kind of weapon is the worst for character with skills which grant them multiple attacks.

Damn, you're absolutely right. Thanks for pointing that out, I overlooked it. I'll put a correction in the description. (Perhaps that explains why she has such terrible aim in this battle!)

Very Helpfull Series!!! but im i wrong that at 29:52 normally Equipment cannot be blocked with Curse Cubes?!

If the first rule for determining movement is avoid harmful terrain, why does the monster move through the poison when it can move up on ledge to the right? Is it because A) he wants to get there and smash the eagle so it overrides his safety precautions (and how we would probably play it as characters) or is it B) he has to move away from his focus target and successive steps do not move him closer to his target or is it C) something I haven't thought of?(and how we would probably play it as characters)

Yeah, my interpretation of the rules is that getting as close as possible to their target(s) overrides self-preservation, but it's possible that I'm wrong.

20:36 I am confused. First you said taking the shortest route is the lowest priority. Wouldnt the Rotten Flesh then AVOID the poisoneous terrain and go back up instead to take the longer way around (through the water)?

If there were a safer path, which would get him just as close to his target, then he would take it (even if it were a longer path). But there isn't. He only has Move 3, so there's no possible way for him to reach the water. Hope this helps.

Why are you changing the initiative card sides whenever rotten flesh activates? Is that a house rule?

The core game includes 'variations' of some monsters (including cards with an A and B side, which get flipped after their turn). Beginners would probably use the 'standard' version, but I wanted to demonstrate this optional mechanic. (Of course, I could have explained that better).
