Obeah(jamaica,diaspora)is really called Okom=(Mother) out of Ghana.It is the Akan people who practice the Tradition.The Bomsom Okomfo is the most dangerous respected Priest in the Okom Tradition.Only descendants of the Akan can practice the tradition.I know this for my Wife is Asante Akan.

Obeah is a diasporic tradition tied to the Spirits of the blue Mountains and forests in Jamaica, Yes there are links to Akan Practices but they are not the only slave group Brought to Jamaica and many tribes practice similar things once you know.
