I came here a few years ago and fell in love. I came back a couple of days ago, and I am completely and utterly enamored. This is amazingly beautiful, Laura. More than amazing. I can hear a bit of Schala's Theme more than halfway into the song, which is the most nostalgic piece for me from the series from my childhood, and truly, it shook my body with goosebumps. I love the fact you are obviously coming from Schala's perspective in the lyrics you wrote. It hurts how good this all is. The kid in me, and the adult I am, both thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Chrono Trigger's soundtrack is timeless. Mitsuda-san is brilliant, as always, since I was a kid in the 90s. Today I learned that my mother was taken ill and in a deep coma at the hospital. This song and Laura's voice actually made me starting crying... I bought this album and play this song often. One time in the car it came on. My daughter takes choir lessons and sang along with it. This song often makes me tear up, but hearing her sing it made me pretty emotional. "I'm not crying... you're crying."

I've listened to this 5 times now. Chrono Trigger is unquestionably my favorite game of all time, and Chrono Cross is pretty close. You did an amazing job. First off, there aren't any words I can express or put into this box that can express how much I enjoyed you singing this. Thank you so much for sharing this with us! I was tearful the first time I heard and saw the kingdom of Zeal... I cried meeting Janus, wondering I too could change something... I wept when I saw Schala's fate... and I haven't wept like this for her in years. I've always grieved her... She did so much to save her mother, her brother, and her kingdom... only to be ripped from time... Not even killed, but... (shakes head). The only hope I still have for her is that that one Nu in the future who "sleeps out side the flow of time" can at least dream of her. She's the only person who didn't get a tomorrow. Thank you again for this song, and putting some words to her, and telling her story before, during, and after the fall of Zeal. Thank you for telling her story.

I don't know that you'll ever read this since this was posted so long ago. But I wanted to thank you. This song isn't just beautiful, but for me it was one of the last things I shared with my mom before she died. Chrono Trigger was a major touchstone of mine for gaming, one of the few titles out there I would have more or less called perfect and your cover of this song was so gorgeous I had to share it. And now whenever I listen to it I cry. It hits me so deep and I miss her so much. But I had to tell you how much I love what you do with Chrono Trigger music (and I typically listen to fairly negative/aggressive music). I played that game when it first came out and then last year I reacquainted myself with it just to find that it was just as amazing as I remembered it. 20 years later and still, nothing compares to the story arc of Janus and Schala. The fact that your lyrics in this song can touch me the same way as the game does is remarkable. I'm in my thirties and very tired of the direction that music has been going for most of my life.
