ha, which part? Skipping the verse? Got lucky with the intro and chorus matching up perfectly
@ChrisHunterSavesTheDay4 жыл бұрын
@@chrisstanleydrums No, it's the snare roll with the left hand and adding the accents on the floor tom with the right hand! That's sounds great! When I play this song, I was doing the snare roll with both hands and adding the accents with the kick. It was the best I could think of for the sound that I was hearing from the original song. So many of these songs/bands have a drummer and a percussionist playing together to create these layered sounds, so it can be really difficult to reproduce when you're just a lone drummer! LOL! That intro you did was the best of both worlds to me. Great job, bro!
@chrisstanleydrums4 жыл бұрын
@@ChrisHunterSavesTheDay I got ya! I actually picked it up from Vincent Baynard's video Elevation put out. I would gravitate toward doing it that way anyways because consistency on the hits is much easier to control. The first song I remember doing this was Man of Sorrows. On that song, you don't hit the snare and tom together but the premise is the same.

Mark Gelinas I might do that on something difficult with kick drum. I’m usually not playing anything that interesting on kick on most worship songs and I don’t like PIP video, so I don’t think I’d actually use the shot.

Hey! What is the biggest difference between the 24” and 22” light rides?
@chrisstanleydrums4 жыл бұрын
Well, each one is different. I've had 3 22" K Light Rides and all sound slightly different. This one was 2300g and is lower pitch than my last 2 which were in the 2480g range. The 24" I have is louder but it's just got the perfect crash and wash that's hard to get.

@@chrisstanleydrums Hey don't mean to pick your brain too much but what are your thoughts on wood hoops vs. Tripple flange vs. Di cast hoops for rock/worship music?
@chrisstanleydrums4 жыл бұрын
Everest Abblitt I’ve never used wood hoops. The DW True Hoops are more rigid than standard triple flange but not die cast. I’m honestly sure you can go with anything and be okay. I haven’t put much thought into it myself and never tried different hoops on the same drum to compare.
