Is the 12+8 only required for Autel scanners?? Or for all scanners. Can I plug in a cheaper wired scanner just to look at codes?? My main scanner is an Autel but I don't have the 12+8 or Auto Auth. And it didn't even let me view the codes for the CEL

The bypass adapter by Z-automotive is like $60, which is pretty steep for a bunch of pins hooked together and a plastic enclosure. This 12+8 cable is $15 from china shopped. Can it be used with cheap eBay Bluetooth OBD2 dongle (not an Autel's one) e.g. ELM327?

If you want good quality you gotta pay good money. Autel is a company based out of china so you are getting same sub par quality but at least autel backs it up with some upsides. Autel is decent but could invest in snap-on to avoid buying chinese products and quality. Will research snap-on production sites

I bought a similar connector and connected it, but I get an "The network is error, please check the network is fine....." error. Are there any other conditions besides the 12+8 connector connection?

There’s a service called auto auth that lets you bypass the 12+8 connector now. Google them.

same place on the 2019 dodge journey. witch is funny since you could replace it with a buypass and start and drive most cars their fors a cheap tool and you can steal a car buy disabling the system that helps prevent theft.

You don’t need auto auth with this adapter. However for $50/year I decided auto auth is the way to go.

Sorry I don’t. There’s a service now that’s like $50/year that lets you bypass the 8+12 and just use the OBDII

Sorry. No I don’t. There is a newer service called Auto Auth I believe that is $50/year that makes it so you don’t need the adapter anymore.

It does but this but this module I’m showing in this video blocks the obdII from actually erasing any codes. There is now a service called Auto Auth that for $50/year allows you to just use the OBDII.

@@DentRepairNow ya, I looked into it. I got the Autel maxisys mk908. You need internet to the scan tool and it automatically takes you to the auto auth login as an intermediate step to scanning these chrysler junks. Way to rob people...
