Everything you did was correct. I have built several 2.2 & 2.5 engines. Weak link is the head gasket, they tend to go bad after a while. Note on the timing mark: If you are working on a FWD vehicle w/ auto trans & you cannot locate a timing mark on the torque converter it is probably because someone installed a converter that was made for the 3.0 V-6 & they don't have a timing mark on them. Ran into that problem on a 2.5 in a 95 mini van. Seems that the 2.2, 2.5 & 3.0 torque converters are physically interchangeable except for the timing mark. The torque converter rebuild folks (apparently) are not aware of the situation. Beware if you are installing a rebuilt converter.

God I love the 2.2 and 2.5, such a simple engine, they last forever!

I just bought a '92 spirit with the 2.5. Has 77k miles and it needs a new headgasket.

I use to work on the 2.2/2.5 all the time but it was when there were no aftermarket support now days it amazes me on what is out there and you can still get refurbished engines from jegs too. back when I was into them I was into the Turbo cars but they are the same thing as a NS 2.2/2.5

I like how you're just saying this there and that there and you're pointing at things but we can't see them cuz the camera is not looking at what you're pointing at it would be nice if you would refer to things by their common name that would help to combat the whole this and that thing
