3:50 Throughout history, there have been "Filled for life" transmissions, and the result was usually a life of under 100,000 miles. This includes modern transmissions with advanced synthetic lubes.

That sounds like a Scotty Kilmer quote. Ha ha. I was an automatic transmission mechanic at a Ford dealership from 1983-2006.:Ford also boasted of their "lifetime fluid" in some of their vehicles. This would be accurate if the vehicle never operated off road, and never operated in ambient temps above 80F or below 40F. And the vehicle never towed anything or went through deep puddles of water. In other words, the owner couldn't enjoy driving the car. But the real reason "filled for life" is a safe bet kind of goes along with your comment; most owners trade in their cars long before 100K miles. It is usually after pay off. By that time, a complete service will be done on all fluids for the next owner.
