I laughed my head off when Mark launched that thing. Then I snorted coffee out my nose when he said his kid was flicking boogers in class. I get the whole stigma about minivans. I used to be the guy who looked down at them. Then my wife got one, because we have two kids. If there's an SUV that has seats that fold into the floor, I haven't seen it. You can throw an air bed in the back and camp with it. I can tow a snowmobile trailer with it. I can haul wallboard or plywood in it. I've had five kids in the back with movies playing for them on a long road trip. Not a peep from the brats. anything I've asked of that thing, it has done. The Pentastar engine has been solid for 126,000 miles with the exception of a bad alternator. Mileage is not unreasonable for a vehicle that weighs this much. If you're reasonably restrained on the highway, you can get 30mpg. Around town expect 19.

Great video. I have a 2017 and it's a good car, but with some faults. I agree with your thoughts on the metal on the steering wheel. Even heated, it's freezing in the winter. But most disconcerting is having to work with Chrysler's service department. I have had electrical issues from day one. I still have them because they said at the dealer, "we can't replicate the fault and there's no codes coming up". They are awful to deal with. I had an old Town and Country that was great. One thing Chrysler took away was the ability for the second row seats to slide back and forth because of the new hinge design. Not ideal when you're tall. I'm getting rid of mine, and had considered the new 2021, but I had a look at the new Sienna, and it blows the Pacifica out of the water for comfort. And the second row seats slide way back. It also has buttons on the dash for heated seats, etc, which is much easier than going through the screen. I've always wondered why FCA is the only car group to not have a sync button on the dash for the heating. It's a nightmare trying to open up the rear air con controls through the screen when you're driving, if nobody else is in the van and you want to turn the heat down. It's the small things that you live with that ruin the car, and IMO, the Pacifica needs more physical buttons like the Sienna has.

I test drove a 2022 Pacifica Hybrid two weeks ago. My immediate surprise was that I wasn't comfortable in the drivers chair. Made no sense to me. It's a minivan...shouldn't this feel amazing and plush? Anyone else have issues with the drivers chair feeling too firm and unpleasant? I almost walked out of there with the Pacifica if it weren't for the seat being so uncomfortable. I think it was the Limited or Touring trim. Do you have to go to a higher trim to get a comfy seat? The insane space of it all, the practicality of what you can load in the back, the low floor height to load things, the automatic doors everywhere...it's just such a practical vehicle. Too bad the seat sucked for the 10 min I was in it. Went with a Hyundai Santa Fe PHEV instead as I still want a PHEV.

@CalmDownShh3 жыл бұрын
1. Lack of knowledge such product exists. 2. Suv's generally have a higher ride height and or more off road capabilities. 3. For males a Suv can be your main vehicle and kid transporter. At 55k for this Chrysler this would be a family hauler for some as well as their main vehicle due to the price. Although it's a great at many things and I would have no issues owning one I wouldn't want a van to be my only vehicle. 4. This is subjective but branding. Some will stray away from a company whose only other car is the 300 which current model run started in 2011. With Oldsmobile and Pontiac folding in the 10s people may not see an incentive in dishing out 55k with those potential issues looming versus getting a van from other companies such Toyota or Honda. Again all of these are hypothetical and directly a response to the OPs question on why might one buy an SUV over this.
