Chrysler Pt Cruiser Serpentine belt Removal and Replacement! Alternator belt, Serpentine belt! 2.4 Engine 2001- 2010.

We took this video to show you how to access, remove and replace the serpentine belt for Air Conditioning Compresser and Power Steering Pump on a Chrysler Pt Cruiser 2.4 Engine. Once you remove the first serpentine belt for the airconditioner and powersteering pump you can access and remove the alternator belt as well. The alternator belt is adjustated manually and the serpentine belt for the air conditioning compressor and the power steering pump does not need adjustment it has tensioner pulley.
It will be about the same procedure for all Chrysler Pt Cruiser with the the 2.4 Naturally Aspired Engine. The 2.4 Turbo might be the same as well.

A Video on alternator replacement on PT cruiser would b great, I read a few forums and ended up having to remove the axle to get the alternator out. If there is an easier way, it would be a good video. Would have made one myself, but it would have been a few hours long.

when in park my 2006 pt cruiser JUMPS into gear when going from park to reverse or park to drive. also once it JUMPS into gear, my car will not shift pass 1st gear so i have to drive only 25 miles per hour. then there other times when going from park to drive or park to reverse, the engine does NOT jump and will drive all regular as an automatic transmission should. the check engine light is on and the code is TCM. does this sound more like a solenoid issue or a motor mount issue

I have a 2005 base PT Cruiser bought it from an older gentleman who had all the receipts for the work he did on the vehicle . I have 77 k miles is it due for a serpentine belt ???? .

I usually install new belts between 60-80k miles. Just check them for cracks.

+Sleepyjohnzon I will double check but I think you will need to remove the right driveshaft so you can get the alternator out of there.

Its weird how the Part number for the ALternator belt seems to be hard to find. The Main serpentine is easy and its everywhere. Anyone have the Belt Part number for the ALternator belt?

I'm lost-Put on new tensioner. Trying to put on belt but I can't get even close to getting it on. Tensioner only moves 1/2" and really doesn't appear to do much. The picture shows how much belt I have left to get on.
