I swear to everything that you are a true hero for this. I paid $400 for part and install of a starter. Then just got a new ignition switch. Didn’t work. If the starter was old its probably the reason the fuse burnt out in the first place.. I got mine cheap and put it in myself but that was no easy job lol

It worked thank you! I had it towed to my job (a garage) because the battery is in the wheel well & it’s 28 Fahrenheit in Michigan today. We changed out the battery and it wouldn’t even crank. Checked the fuse as you instructed and it was blown. Changed it and the car started right up. THANK YOU

Update 2/11/23 Problem fixed! Blown Fuse just like you said!. Thank you again God bless you. I don't work on Chryslers at all (Toyota Family) but my granddaughter had this problem. I replaced the battery after testing it "it was bad" but it did not fix the no start problem. I have no dash lights other than the oil light just like your video. Will go over there tomorrow and check it. Thank you so much for posting this!

Watching a lot of useless videos that didn't help. Then I watch this video I'm like wow one fuse and it starts the car that's crazy. I was down to my last option I tried everything else. So fair enough I take that fuse out replace it with a new one and it works. I do my own repairs I'm a Google mechanic. I watch vide doing myself

mine blew and I put a new fuse and then it melted the plastic around the fuse lol the old starter was struggling creating a ton of resistance it almost makes the battery sound weak when it isn't... new starter fixed it. You'll notice the difference immediately. ​@@rohanboswell5408

I need some advice please. I have this same problem. Just bought this car and I thought it way way too good of a deal. Car runs great. BUT. I found they have a wire jimmied in where the fuse is suppose to go. My car wouldn’t even crank and your video led me to find this wire. I guess they probably put this because it kept blowing the other fuses. I’m wondering what is the main issue. Like what is this fuse for. What is it that’s going out or his causing the short hopefully it’s not a $5000 fix

TIPM most likely. It is pretty expensive.. I don’t think $5000. But probably at least a grand

FIND THE CAUSE ! After years of working fine, that fuse didn't just blow without a reason, something caused it to blow. Find the cause, fix it, and the fuse won't blow again. You can Google "starter relay fuse keeps blowing" and the results will get you started in the right direction. Mine turned out to be a ground cable connection that had come loose. (the one marked "NEGATIVE JUMP START ATTACHMENT" in this video.) All it took was removal, cleaning with a wire brush, and reassembly. Before the repair, the same fuse blew 3 times in 2 days. That was a month ago, and it has not happened again. So change the fuse to get the car home, then find the cause to make the car reliable again. (Please pin this comment near the top so people find the cause.)

I totally agree, this needs to be pinned at the top asap. Just purchased an 06 sebring and im having the same issues. I will be removing and cleaning the ground wire and starting there tomorrow. Thanks

@@Big_Purr_RT That's where mine was. I removed the first nut, which seemed to be torqued normally, but when I tried to loosen the second nut, I found that it was already loose. I wire brushed everything, reassembled it, and it was good to go. Just remember that there are 2 more possible ground locations to check, the cable at the battery terminal, and the second cable to the starter or engine block. Aside from this issue (and the stupid design of the water pump), they're great cars.

Thanks for this video. My battery is low at 12 volts since the car as been sitting a little while and I replaced the fuse 2 times and both times it blew. When I had a new fuse in, it would try to crank (click) with low battery power but then immediately blew the fuse again. I can't jump it, but I can charge the battery on trickle until full. Do you think this could be because my voltage is too low to crank and it's blowing the fuse because of it or related to something else?

@@tyleragosto5790 The starter was replaced and the was problem solved. Whether or not I got banged for a new starter and a minor relay is unknown. However the starter is new in a 15 year old car, much faster to turn and start, total was like $240. Can't complain.

I don't trust mechanics are all con artists that rip you off. I do my own work on the car oil change alternator battery tires turn signals,etc. You name it I did it myself. I should open up shop and call my cell the honest mechanic or the only honest mechanic

It may be the TIPM. Maybe try asking someone you may know who is familiar with Dodge and Chrysler vehicles?

If the car sounds like it's struggling to start it's the starter. Mine was sluggish it burnt a fuse I put a 30a instead and it melted the plastic around the fuse... New starter works like a dream.. haven't got around to replacing that blob of a 30a fuse yet tho

In 2004 make sure the where positive terminal there no cracking or you have all kinds problems my girlfriend point that one out so got them pulling part now If you let go toasty car cause blow computers

If u can't scan ur car and ur radio don't work its ur number 5 fuse that's blown if ur in a 2004 Chrysler
