Yep...when the battery gets week and particularly when it's cold outside and the keys are inside the vehicle and cold-soaked. A weak (i.e., old) cold-soaked battery can result in the car not recognizing the presence of the key fob and not starting. Try battery replacement first before digging deeper as it is the easiest and cheapest fix action to start. Might be very pleased when things work normally again. Try a lithium 2032 battery as they are less prone to cold weather voltage drop with a much longer life. OH and get an Energizer or Duracell 2032....not some knock-off, no-name brand.

Can I just use the key? Will it start the car? I am 70 and my back tailgate keeps opening as I approach the car. It is unsettling to say the least. How do I turn off the auto doors can they be used manually? Any help would be appreciated. I am turning it into a mini camper so I can go see my son n great grandkids. On SS so I can’t afford to take it to shop, I spent it all on this van…thanks.
