Cool I don’t have any of that fancy stuff but in 1984 I was in computer school hacking into systems across several states the same way. Contrary to how many people see a computer it is NOT smart. It only knows what you tell it or it thinks you tell it so as long as you give it something it “thinks” should be there it will do whatever you want… Of course back then we used I’s and Os and actual computer languages and now people use program to write programs but it’s still basically the same.

This is old trick and very helpful to use .but you have to know your spec( Enigne & transmission ) so you can do it and match different PCM I.D ..other wise you will over drive your final drivers(JFET.transistors) inside the pcm specially if the specifications is different .like torque converter clutch and EGR......wiTECH2 micro pod, will not do it at this moment since flash is automated with cloud (they erase Temp files after the job is successful ( that's why they use JAVA & other programs ) ,i don't know about old wiTECH1 micropod1#since it is not based on Cloud download ..but you have to use J2534 or DRB III or DRB Emulator ..Good Video A+++

Yes you need to have the proper original calibration. This is last resort when needed. With witech if you have the original pcm and it communicates , you can ID the vehicle with the original module. Turn key off install new module and program, it is tricky , I have done the newer tcm on jeeps like this, you need to get to a certain point , I think the spot where you accept / tell wi tech reason for program, then install new / USER module.

I have aquestion.i got a 300c hemi with wrong programming.can it be recalibrated.it has a code of p0499 i cant see no vent valves with current .i only see a mechanical ventvalve o In the tank.the place i ordered it programmed it.can it be calibrated

What device are using to connect to the odb port? A witech vci pod?

J box. I am not sure that any Chrysler tools beside drb3 allow you to download file and change look up info. As of now you can still do this probably changing in Jan2020

Hey there, I’m having issues using witech. My tune got interrupted and I lost communication with the pcm. When I connected witech to it it reads the vin correctly, year make and model but when you go to flash it, it’s reading it as an srt Jeep 2014 instead of RT Charger 2014. Any reason why it could be doing this?

So how do you program a blank pcm? Do you still download the files from techauthority for the vin you are putting the new blank computer in? I’ve done reflagged with that application but not many replacements. Besides vin and miles write and skim

Only part I was confused about was a blank pcm. When it asks at the beginning to change from this part number to the updated one. And figured it’d be a different process since there was nothing to read on it. Also took me forever to get the files to download it didn’t work on google chrome internet edge explorer. So had to try old and busted internet explorer. Change Java settings and I was like hell yea it worked.

Also my buddy is installing a used pcm in his 06 keep wrangler he asked about skim. I told him you probably only have to do a vin reset. But if he needs I have a pin code puller. You think he will be able to just reset vin? Man I pick up tips from every video you put up. Diagnostics isn’t an issue for me it’s the tricks to programming. I been watching your ids since you did an intake gasket job on a old gm yearssss ago

@@philh9238 what color is key? If you get matching software pcms you will be good, if you have a gray key j tool box bin, skim will do it, if black key( no skim) sometimes they don't like to reset

He says it’s a grey key. I’ll probably use j2534 toolbox on the skim. He’s in the boonies of ohio so I was going to see if he could write vin with his autel first before I go to him

Chrysler Dodge Jeep, 09 and older currently. The new process starting later this year may change things.

No it will not. Each manufacture supplies there own software and procedures for programming. There are "loopholes" for other manufactures but it varies greatly.
