【About Asian Small-clawed Otters】
First, otters are different from sea otters.
Sea otters spend most of their time in the water, but otters can live both on the ground and in water.
A few years ago, trafficking otters became a serious problem, and in 2019, CITES (Washington Convention) increased the classification of otters from CITESⅡ to CITES I, which banned international trade.
Having an otter as a pet is illegal in most countries. However, in Japan, otters can be traded, although it is limited to domestic breeds only.
Currently, severe restrictions are in place for buying and selling otters in Japan. For example, microchips need to be inserted in both babies and parents, and owners need a special permit. Circumstances of birth must also be reported in detail.
As a result, there is currently no buying and selling of baby otters in the market. There is a severe penalty for selling and buying otters with unknown birth origins without permits. This was effective in eliminating trafficking, and we don’t see otter trafficking on the news anymore.
Kotaro and Hana were both born in Japan and have permits.
It is so much work to have an otter as a pet. You need to be ready for more than its cuteness. They are loud, and they sometimes bite you. Food and water get very expensive, and you cannot keep otters in cages because they are active. Also, we never leave them at home. We always look after them closely like we do with human children, and our top priority is always them.
If you want to have an otter as a pet, you must be able to follow the law and devote your life to it. If you don’t have that resolve, you should never have one as a pet.

ダイエットを決意して下さってホッとしました。 とても心配していました。 食事の量を減らすのが一番簡単ですが注意が必要です。 一日の食事量をいきなり減らすと逆に食欲が上がりますし、食べたいが為に取り合いの喧嘩してしまいます。 一日分の食事量から5gとか減らして、回数を増やしてあげるとストレスを感じにくいですよ。2〜3日続けてまたちょっと減らす。 単独飼育ではないので置き餌はやめた方が良いです。どちらが食べたか分からないので。 体重測定はこまめにして食事量との比較が大事です。運動量が増えれば、食事量を減らさなくても体重が減る量の食事量が見えてきます。 体重が少ない動物のダイエットは100gがとても大きな数字なので、急激な変化は危険ですので気長に頑張って下さい。 犬、猫、モルモットと生活しています。犬と猫の毎食のフードの計測は欠かさずしています。 可愛い我が子の為に頑張って下さい❣️

先日、カワウソを観に動物園へ行ってきました。４人いた動物園のカワウソはみんなスリムで、ハナとは全くち…が…う気が…笑 なので動物園の飼育員さんに聞いてみたらいかがでしょうか。 でも、少し太ってるくらいの方が個人的には可愛いですね。 とはいえやはり健康が気になるので、ダイエット応援してます！

And that is possible only with exercise and walk and swim in the nature where they seldom go., it is not about diet but the fact that they sit at home all the time!! They are choking on their own fat and will end up with liver failure and diabetes if dad does not come to senses and finally take them out, not just ones in a blue moon but every day, like Otterman does.

うちは犬ですが、飼い主のエゴで食べさせ過ぎでおデブになったことがあります。 動物は運動も必要だけど、食事管理が重要だと獣医にこっぴどく叱られました。 カワウソさんとは違うかもしれませんが、 心を鬼にしておやつとご飯の量を減らしただけでベスト体重になりました。 散歩はいつもどおりでした。 参考にならないかもしれませんが、ときには心を鬼にしてくださいませ♡ いつまでも、コタローくんとハナちゃんがハッピーでいられますよう これからも動画を楽しみにしています。

@@elyen1151 согласен, но Япония по моему к этим химиям относиться очень щепетильно. Просто этих замечательных и милых выдр элементарно чуток перекормили. Это случается незаметно. Мы своего амстаффа кормим строго порционно и он стройный и мускулистый, и очень подвижный.

When Aty gained lots of weight when Otterman was hospitalized, I remember that Otterman said that balancing food and exercise time was critical for Aty to successfully lose weight. Otterman also said in another video that if the amount of food given to an otter (in Aty´s case) is greatly reduced, the animal can become very restless and stressed asking for food. On the other hand, if an otter (in Aty's case) is given too much food to satiate it and the animal doesn't exercise properly, the otter gains ridiculously much weight in too little time. For this reason, Otterman emphasizes in his video that for an otter to have a healthy life, it is important for the animal to eat the correct amount of food (i.e., eat well and healthily) and practice a lot of exercises. Otterman also says in his videos that the amount of food given to an otter can vary according to the amount of exercise that the animal practices in the day and also according to the season of the year (it seems that in winter the amount of food is less than in summer, when otters exercise more). Perhaps you could exchange ideas with Otterman about diet and exercise to keep Kotaro and, especially, Hana at their healthy weights. Good luck!

I really hope that Hana and Kotaro can lose weight so they don’t develop health problems. Hana is such a adorable foodie so I know this will be hard for her. Definitely recommend more walking and possibly swimming for a longer period of time. As usual they were adorable. They won’t lose me as a fan because they’re chubby 🥰❤️👍🏾

Great that you've noticed how much weight they've put on. Not easy to tell when you're with them every day, but when Hana was struggling at the river, and Kotaro was less active than Aty, I did start to think they were getting a little bit chunky around the neck. It won't be long before they are running about again - they will feel so much better once the weight is off. And then you'll be running to keep up with them again (so perhaps put yourself back into training too! 😃). I look forward to hearing Hana's namnamnamnamnam when she gets the occasional treat. But for now, I will stick with enjoying Kotaro's One Wet One Dry. Could watch them all day.

食事を減らして運動を増やすことが、地道ではありますがダイエットには近道な気がします。 私はスパルタで散歩の際、引っ張ってでも歩かせると思います。押し車に乗せる行為は極力せず、自分の足で歩かせます。 休む時はその場で休んで、自分の力で歩かせます。 人間も動物も楽をして太ってしまうという状態、考えは、共通して変わらないと感じます。 今後、この状態のままであれば、私なら一生サーモンあげないです。

最初は妊娠かと思ってドキッとした。 ハナは食べるの好きだし、コタローの食べてるの見たり、お腹すいたって可愛くおねだりされたらついあげたくなるよね！ ハナは運動あまり好きじゃないから余計にダイエット辛く思っちゃうけどコタローと一緒に頑張ろうね。 コタローは運動してるけどついに太ったゃちゃったのは意外だったな。 前回のときはあまり分からなったけど、今回はコタローと並ばなくてもハッキリわかる(笑)

You could take them on river swimming like Captain Aty & Ui. They swim and/or walk 3-4 hours per day. Otters enjoy being in the water & it's easier to burn fat by being lighter in the water. Try it out. 👍😊
