The mask sucked but the claw was very adequate. The choreography was a bit lacking as it could have been a bit more dramatic and powerful, especially when he finishes off the priest. This is still 1,000 times better than what Hollywood did though.

And the storyline......how the heck was this written better then anything in hollywood. Heck, even the balrog one is awesome
@GabrielCoutoArt Жыл бұрын
the ending was incredible, it subtly showed that Vega only uses his trauma as an excuse for his crimes and evil. The priest talks about what Vega's mother would think of all this and Vega gets angry and kills him, as he couldn't accept the truth, the true reason for his actions, with Bison appearing at the end and him throwing the rose, it would be him accepting his true reason for being what he is. It's incredible how these small Street Fighter productions can be so much better than a Hollywood film

In order to avoid any likeness infringement lawsuit from Tyson, Capcom rotated the names of three of the boss characters for international versions of the game. The final boss, named Vega in the Japanese version, was given the M. Bison name, the talon-wielding Spanish warrior, named Balrog in the Japanese version, was renamed Vega, and the boxer became Balrog.)

Very easily without a doubt the BEST short film I have seen to this day and of all time. I have literally watched this at least like ten times or so all up and no matter how many times I see this, This is still just as poetic and deep as it was the very first time I saw this because watching this has literally made me realize just how much more there is to the character because you think that Vega is just so narcissistic and self-loving just because he's full of himself when in reality, He still just that lost little boy from all those years ago and in many ways can be seen as a form of PTSD on why he see's beauty as 'Heroism and Strength' and 'Ugliness' as not only repulsive but as a 'threat'. When they created this, They created more than a story, They created a life that we all lived and witnessed with our own two eyes. So in closing, I got to say that this short film is completely and totally.. A thing of beauty.

This, Assassin's Fist, and Balrog: Behind the Glory go to show that live-action adaptations of Street Fighter CAN work, and work well. I think the whole problem with the last two Hollywood adaptations is that the directors really just wanted to make completely different movies, and just slapped loose adaptations of the video game characters into their scripts with little regard for the source material. But live-action Street Fighter CAN be amazing! And it's such a blessing to have not one, not two, but three examples to show us how it can and should be done.
@KenMasters. Жыл бұрын
Actually, making a live-action movie based on Street Fighter has not been easy, that's why Assassin's Fist Season 2 didn't get off the ground. Putting a complete star-cast as the World Warriors in the movie takes as big of a budget as a Marvel, DC, or Star Wars movie. Because half of the cast involves realistic CGI instead of actors; namely Blanka, Zangief, Dhalsim, T. Hawk, Sagat, Akuma, and Chun-Li's legs. Due to them being freakish in appearance and anatomy, with physically impossible moves.

Oh well, maybe he got it from his stepfather :P
@hombresalvadoamerica8 жыл бұрын
Be more human.

So Vega was a young boy, who witnessed the murder of his mother by his step-father, who both fell out the window. He takes his set of claws and kills him, avenging her death. But then eventually along the line, he gets too deep in with the killings and all, and felt that for exposing him and his mother to the step-father, he feels that the priest has to pay the price for it, thus killing him. And that's all what led him to that life of crime. But for him to go through such a agonizing moment for his mother to be savagely beaten, strangled, and then killed by his step-father, I feel really bad for him.

Yes. I've wanted to see this movie made since seeing that Balrog film. This was great. It really puts Vega's tragic past in a more public light. Very nice job. Although it's clear they used some creative liberty about his biological father and that priest stuff, it had a nice presentation to it. The origin of the flourish on Vega's mask stemming from his mother's scar isn't canon, but it's still a nice detail they created. The death of his mother, however, seemed more accidental in this case. Not like the story goes. I'll have to read up on Vega's bio in some Street Fighter encyclopedia, as his background in the Street Fighter Wiki isn't as well sourced as I'd like to keep it. Tenouttaten.

Amazing. I think Vega would make such an interesting movie character all on his own.

Best film I've seen in a long time. I wish they would make a full live-action Vega film like this.

In rewatching this... ...nice touch with the marking on Vega's mask resembling the scar his mother received on her face. And I still say you guys are goddamn amazing with these short films. Both of them still hold up!

I was worried that ChubbyBoy Films was not going to do another video but I am very pleased that you all did. Hopefully a big studio will pick you up and/or give you substantial funding to do more of these projects. Good luck and keep up the great work!

WOW this short film of Vega was awesome. They really put a lot of work in Vegas story. I hope they do others like this as they did with Street Fighter the Assassin first story and later on put the stories together which lead to the Street fighter world tournament hosted by M.Bison. If there ever be a future Street fighter movie it better meet up to all the storyline, martial arts and characters personality when they are played in the film. Thanks for the upload ChubbyBoyFilms. I really enjoyed this short film. I can not wait to see more of your awesome videos. Keep up the good work.

How fitting to hear Vega speak Spanish, considering he's from Spain. Though, one thing I can imagine him saying when he kills the priest is "¡Muérete, viejo!" (Die, you old man!) Still though, this is excellent solid work.

Yes! They made the headcanon backstory for Vega secondary canon! I loved that backstory,, and her calling him ugly confirmed it! Yes! Even without that this is an amazing standalone story!

Very, very awesome, all the way through. It felt as though they were in Mexico, not Spain, but honestly? That's a minor complaint when you stack it up to how well acted, scripted, and edited the entire thing was. Fantastic.
