Hahaha...."ikan Uji Rashid". That fish is given such a name because of its big eyes. FYI, Uji Rashid is a famous actress and she has big eyes. Actually that fish is known as ikan kerisi. Another fish is called "ayam ayam"... a unique name indeed and it's my first time knowing it. Wonderful that you enjoyed another SEDAAAAAP DAY in KK, Sabah. Great content, fun and entertaining video. Nama ikan yang ada tu, semua nama ikan tempatan bagi orang Sabah. All fish's name are only applicable to Sabahan. Ikan Uji Rashid (kedua terbaik buat ikan bakar/2nd best to make grilled fish) Ikan Basung Ikan Ayam-ayam/ Trigger Fish (memang namanya sejak dari dulu) Ikan Bollong Ikan Belawis Ikan Kayu/tongkol (paling sedap buat ikan bakar, sebab isinya tebal macam kayu/ Very delicious to make grilled fish because of the flesh are thick like a wood) Etc.. Welcome to Sabah, Chu. The only heaven price of Seafood in Malaysia. However, You should explore more and try to find the cheapest price of seafood. Seafood in Sabah are very fresh.

As a Sabahan, Uji Rashid fish is the best fish for you to mix with Sambal Belacan in my humble opinion. The hard skin protects the juicy meat inside when grilled, and it's very sweet and delicious when mixing it with any sauce + soy sauce + limau. 1 can never be enough. Plus, you can make sambal belacan on your own. You can put chili or sambal as many as you want.

@@michelleyii927 Sometimes you probably mistake Filipinoes or Indonesians descent in Sabahan for Malays. Muslims over the world do not eat at food establishment where there are pork or other non halal food being prepared, unless tbey are in a country where majority are of non muslims. Then, they have no other choice. Helpers in chinese restaurant wearing hijab are sometimes Indonesian. While they are muslims, many of them do not have comprehensive understanding of islamic teaching. There is another scientific reason why muslims usually do not eat at food establishments that prepare pork. In a case where pork meat might be contaminated with virus and this is a well known fact that pig is host to multiple of bacteria and virus, the virus might spread through contact during preparation and contaminate other food that are halal.

I love grilled ikan ayam. Very delicious especially when dip with spicy sauce especially tamarind spicy sauce. Ikan uji rashid is also known as ikan mata besar, easily can be found in local supermarket. My recommendation if you want to eat grilled fish is most definitely ikan ayam, ikan cencaru or ikan pari (stingray). As for dipping sauce any spicy sauce is fine but if the shop have tamarind(asam jawa) sauce get those or soy sauce with chili.

@Chu Bro, before u go back, try Ikan 'Baulu' bakar especially if you can get boneless since it has quite alot of bones. quite a famous fish delicacy and very hard to get good n fresh ones because its common to sarawak and sabah but abit harder to find in peninsular, it has great flavour. goes well with rice and spicy sauce

They named the fish as Ikan Uji Rashid bcoz the eyes are huge, as huge as Uji Rashid’s eyes. Uji Rashid is a famous veteran singer & actress. She was very popular in the 70s & 80s (Ikan Lolong )

Ikan Uji Rashid remind me when i was child in 70's and early '80s in my hometown in Perak. So famous because big eye's fish as well as wellknown singer Uji Rashid that time..but only different are ikan kembung, ikan selar we call it Uji Rashid..hahahaaaa.
