The cab needs to be pushed in further until it clicks. It should be flush to the body (trailer) in order for the head to lay flat.

Thanks for the review and your final thoughts. Bowermaster Optimus Prime was the Holy Grail toy for me as a kid and I too am a fan of the Japanese Transformers ever since the announcement of the Haslab Victory Sabre. When that figure was in development I started to do more research into the Japanese Transformers series. I ended up backing Victory Sabre as well as Deathsaurus which are both amazing! I was sad when I was not able to get that re-purposed Super Ginrai and God Bomber set which ended up being sort of a mess, but when a brand new Super Ginrai was announced I knew I had to find a way to get it. Fast forward to now and I was blessed to be able to find a new Super Ginrai in stock and have the funds to get one. The price is not easy to swallow since it is basically the price of a Haslab and was actually more money than the last Transformer Haslabs but it looks like an amazing figure. You can see where the money went. I hopefully will get mine soon. If you have the Haslab Victory Sabre and Deathaurus I would love to see how Super Ginrai looks next to those figures. What a time to be a Japanese Transformer fan especially seeing how we get this, and soon we will get God Bomber and a new Star Convoy / Optimus Prime.

Great review! Here is a tip to keep Ginrai in place in the chest a bit more securely. When you get it clipped in, just press the legs outwards towards the clips by pushing a fingernail into the spaces between the black legs and the grey parts of the "engine block." You also do need to press the cab a little further in to get the super-mode to sit flush, but it's slightly scary. I just push the left side down flush, and then the right side.

I was also wondering the same and did some research. I think it has to do with an original drawing design that those two panels do open, and I see people use the back panels to store the accessories like the shoulder bits, the extra hands and extra Ginrai. I also had to slot it in a few times before I can get the cab straight flat by adjusting the angle of the ankle. But take care in putting stress on the silver chrome peg tabbing into the legs, some people have breakage there. The alternate head I think is for some iterations of the masterforce cartoon is drawn a bit differently (more angry looking)... typical deviations from the drawing team back in the 90s. Appreciate the review! Kee it up!

Also i do have a question, now i have seen some comparisons of this guy with studio series 86 optimus prime, and im just curious, could jinrai and 86 optimus swap trailers and weapons? Because its looking like as if the trailer and weapons are 5mm compatible.

Regarding the Super Ginrai head plate, the trailer goes in and it "clicks" into place. The top of the cab should line up with the sides of the chest wall. The knees at the back of the unit may need to be adjusted slightly.

Also, just a tip, if you got loose tabs, i usually just take some crazy glue, apply a tiny dot of it on the sides of the tab and the. Plug the female on top of it and take it off again a few times to apply the glue into the female port and then finally just keep them seperated and let the dry after theyre both applied with glue. Then after it is dried, at least for me i always see a more secure connection due to the friction of the glue inside the port and tab.

Really good review. This was my Optimus Prime as a child. The only thing that I don’t like is how the head doesn’t stay tanned down. Hopefully you’re missing something and can figure that out. I will be doing some research to see if that is a common problem. Thanks for the great review !! This figure looks really good!

Hey Chuck... To get the head to tab in, you need to press Ginrai down more into the Super Ginrai body. You want the top of the chest to be level with the top of the cab...should be 100% level. Then your Super Ginrai head will plug in better and you won't have the "floating" issue.

I watched some other reviews of this figure and I think it is that the cab is not plugged in all the way to the super robot is why the head platform will not stay tabbed in. And the trailer hitch pieces should not be tabbed together on the cab for the super Ginrai combination. I think that might be the reason for the broken tabs.

I don’t have mine yet, and not sure if you’ve solved it already, but looking at other videos it seems the whole cab goes down just a bit further overall which may be why the head won’t peg in properly? Very concerned with breakage myself, so I feel your pain!

I don’t have the figure yet but from watching every review that’s up, I think the problem with your head plate is the cab isn’t quite clicked all the way down. The top of the cab should be flush with the top of the chest parts from the trailer. It looks like yours is sitting a bit higher and causing the plate to have to tab in at an angle. Don’t have him yet, but hoping that helps. That would drive me nuts too.

Judging from what Ive seen from others, the head wont tab in because you dont quiiiite have the cab flush in the body (looks like its barely sticking up on camera right). But it could easily be a parts mismatch too, tab slightly flared or something like that.

Well i can't tell for sure cause mine hasn't arrived yet, but as i understood the cap section needs to have an extra push so it sits completely even with the red shoulder bits. Which allows to plug the headplate in properly

Power master Prime was my Prime never had normal prime still trying to get a G1 reissues but so much money and sold out before I could order one so ko G1 prime it is hahah never afford this guy but amazing figure thanks for sharing sweet bot

Got to press down the cab so it will level with the main super body bro.. then the super head will rest properly. Give it a try

It's definitely not seated all the way in dude. Everything has to be plugged in properly like the tires and whatnot. It's a pain but you asked for help so I'm giving it to you. Also, to keep the little engine from popping out stick it in and spread the legs a little bit. That will help hopefully. I can see there's like a 16th to 1/8 of an inch of the cab sticking above the Super Robot torso. It has to be completely flush man.

You're supermode is slightly miss-tranformed..the cab pushes flush down into the cavity.

You mistransformed the cab. That’s why the cab wouldn’t go all the way down and the head doesn’t sit flush.

I am going to wait on a Power Master Optimus Prime re-release of the trailer (to go with the MP Ginrai). Maybe they can just give us the trailer without all the other garbage they are charging ao much for. I get they want to compete with 3rd party, but it is just idiotic to charge so much for a toy. I am not going to resell him so I really dont care how much he is "worth" to anyone else. It makes me angry that they make these guys so expensive for no good reason.
