I just discovered the show a few months ago and now I finished season 5. I am German and I loved how they are constantly throughout the series make fun of the Germans and and their accent. It clearly climaxed in the last episode when they were in Berlin and when the German producer came to sign Jeffster. And I have to admit, a lot of this German stereotype is true 🤣🤣🤣

The thing is, the Aussie accent she did in this video was a 'Hollywood' Australian accent, i.e. not the real thing, but rather how an American would try to sound Australian. Therefore, she's never actually talked with her natural accent

SkiDaBird I've noticed that Yvonne's accent will slip back to being Aussie on certain words or phrases. It happened once when she said "Viruses" and more noticeably during the Season 5 Final when she said, "Tell me our story."

Not really. For some odd reason, many shows I've seen have Australians pretending to be Americans! Her countrywoman Rachael Taylor was in a show about an evil landlord who rents her a haunted apartment but doesn't mention the haunted part in the lease. (I forgot the name of the show). In the show "The 4400, one of the agents was played by Jacqueline Mackenzie, who is from Sydney, New South Wales. Unfortunately, not everyone is always able to pull off the accent. I enjoy Keira Knightley in the Pirates of the Caribbean films but she couldn't pull off an American accent without sounding like she had a nasty cold in "The Jacket." Also, very early in her career, Mackenzie was TERRIBLE with an American accent but she mastered it and can fool me quite easily.

I know this is an older comment but I am sure the series finale was a fun time for you. Where you stopped is where it starts to get really great in my opinion. S3 - S4 is the highlight of Chuck IMO. S5 E1-10 also have some incredibly strong moments when they explore character's pasts.

Old comment, but in case you were still wondering: Aussie accents don't vary that much between states. The main distinction is between rural and urban accents, and she's definitely more urban. There's also ocker accents (eg Steve Irwin), but they're relatively rare. Yvonne's accent here is a little too posh and overly enunciated to be natural. I know she's Aussie, but she sounds more like an American trying to fake it. I suppose it could also work as someone trying to be extremely formal for a presentation.

Why not? We see Sarah from Chuck's point of view, and from there she looks like Yvonne, who later looks like Miranda. Maybe she doesn't look like Yvonne\Miranda from another person's point of view, or maybe she really look like her (facial types are pretty common - I know one girl who lives far from me and some days ago I save another girl who looks pretty much like the girl I know). I mean - they've got Spyin' Smilin' Stan there, why not to have something like that?
