Yrs ago in the States, there was a Middle Eastern lady who was stealing from shops along Montana Ave in Santa Monica, California. The family would pay the shopkeepers not to press charges. One shopkeeper the first time it happened refused payment, but told them the next time she would press charges..the lady did it again & no amount if money could persuade her not press charges.
