It feels like Hus is trying to make a deeper point with this song because it seems intentionally over the top and gets more and more insane as the song goes on. The song reminds me of Kendrick Lamar's The Blacker the Berry in the sense that Kendrick was embodying the raw frustration of African Americans in a way that was uncompromising and uncomfortable because it reveals complicated feelings that you only hear in private in our circles. I get the feeling that Hus is trying to do the same thing but instead trying to embody the raw anger of roadmen. I smell a concept album coming, but I could be wrong.

I understand why some extra religious people might be opposed to the lyrics in his most recent song, but I guarantee that 80% of the people saying that he’s evil and “s0ld his s0ul”: 1. Aren’t even religious like that. And 2. Loved J Hus and were waiting for his return, just like most of us. When I first heard this song, I didn’t even flinch. I didn’t ever think that the lyrics would be a controversial talking point. Especially not when most of the music coming out of the UK is talking about similar topics. PS. Hip-Hop in general has a history of being graphic, and rappers have been trying to say the most gruesome stuff in the slickest way since the 90s. From what I've seen, hardly anyone (not here but online in general) seems bothered by violent lyrics, but many of those same people are so bothered by the words devil & demon. Is the context of the violent lyrics arguable? I'm not sure that it is. But the context of 'devil in me, demon in me' is. As if violence isn't demonic anyway, & the lyrics aren't actually playing out in our communities sometimes - where's the same energy for that? I'm not saying people don't care about others but maybe it's that people don't fear the violence as long as it won't trouble them or theirs.
