I loved hearing about the history of the chuck box. I’m starting to downsize even more than what I needed to to fit everyone into a sedan. I am training and gearing up to do some bike-camping with my mountain bike and a small cargo trailer. The bike trailer is like the chuck-box and wagon all in one but in miniature. This will open up walk-in and hike-in campsites to me without having to resort to backpacking. First bike-in trip is in the fall.

Thanks for the note Red Maple. It’s nice to hear from you. When I saw your name, my mind flashed back to fond memories of a trip many years ago north of Winnipeg. I played a little hockey back then and decided to go to a week long Canadian Professional Hockey Camp in Gimli, Ontario? We camped the entire trip but the most interesting camp was an open overflow area in a provincial park with STINKY outhouses. Great memories. Thanks for the comment.

One thing that I figured out recently, after years of using outhouses during camping, is that keeping the mask on the face helps, I wish I thought of this years ago - but, we never had masks just hanging around the cars either. 🤗 Have a great day, my friend! 👍

Hi Frazier, good to see your video pop up old friend. I really enjoyed your short chuckwagon/chuckbox history lesson. That new food box design looks a lot more efficient and easier to deal with. If you added a pull strap on one end and a small set of wheels on the other, it may solve the problem for walk-in campsites. As always, an enjoyable video.

It’s great to hear from you. Yes, I’m not making videos as often now. Guess I’ve run out of ideas and gas. But I’m hoping to make three or four videos showing how we make different meals with this Chuckwagon setup. The first of these videos will feature Eva making picadillo a Mexican ground beef stew. It’s easy to make and very hearty. Then I plan to make a full breakfast with it. Hope all is well in your family. Thanks for posting this note.
