Actually AMD has had decent value, its just that everyone was goaded into buying into upscaling and RT, like Tessellation back in the Witcher3 era. 4070 has 12GB, 6800 has 16. Rasterization they have much better value. Just dont turn on meme-tracing. Also, driversuite is better, with built-in undervolting/overclocking tools. But if you still want to buy from leather jacket man, go right ahead. Not going to fight you.

Nvidia just does practically everything better sadly. They managed to build a strong midshare by holding the performance crown for several years. They also probably did some shady anti-competitive things to gain the competitive advantage in the laptop markets as well. And even if they get punished for it, the damage is done, since for the normies it's either nvidia or nothing. And to be fair, AMD fumbles a lot of opportunities themselves too. They did decent with RDNA2 as it closed the performance gap somewhat, but then they botched RDNA3 and the gap widened again. The lacklustre pricing didn't help them either, especially for the 7900XT. They should've just taken bigger losses at the start to gain market share in the long run. They lost a lot of money designing RDNA3, a portion of it due to getting it to work with the latest DisplayPort standard. It was a complete waste as neither current displays can max out DisplayPort bandwidths nor can the best 7000 series card output games at such high resolutions and frame rates. Their marketing team is completely incompetent and out of touch, and they clash with the engineers for design choices frequently. RDNA4 is going to make things even worse since it's all but confirmed that they're aiming for the midrange, while nvidia will be releasing their latest and greatest at the same time. And from what I've heard, RDNA5 may be a disappointment too. Expect to pay at least 2 grand for high end graphics from 2025 and onward...

@@Shieftain Yeah i dont agree, I switched from GTX 1080 to RX 6800XT and have never had such a stable system. Literally no AAA release has issues for me. And the in-driver undervolting, Radeon Chill etc are much nicer than gaytracing. To each their own, but they're not objectively better. Just have more mindshare and marketing budget. Plus, the 16GB will age far better than the 12GB 4070.

But if you compare feature by feature, nvidia has been objectively better in most metrics. Some of the things AMD has over nvidia: More memory for the upper-mid range and lower parts Better driver UI and some driver features (overclocking, undervolting, etc) AFMF2 Better value for the top end AMD cards Better linux support Some things nvidia has over AMD: Higher performance tier cards available Power efficiency Significantly faster ray tracing performance for similar priced AMD cards Superior proprietary features, such as DLSS upscaling, frame generation, ray reconstruction and downscaling, reflex and CUDA Overall more stable drivers Better OpenGL performance on windows I've been consistently alternating between nvidia and AMD graphics cards ever since I bought my first GPU almost twenty years ago, and I can attest that my overall experience has been better with team green, as much as I hate to admit it since I'm an AMD fan. I'm sure many feel this way, including other AMD fans, which is yet another reason why nvidia dominates. And you can make fun of ray tracing or whatever all you want, but in the end it matters way more than you think. This stuff being done in real time was considered a "holy grail" years before the RTX series of cards came out. Nvidia has proven itself to be quite effective forward thinkers. Just look at how they got in on AI tech and how it's been paying off like crazy in the past couple of years. AMD has been playing catch-up for years now. With all that said, I'm still going to go with an AMD GPU for my next build since I want to keep consistent with my alternating upgrade habits. I just really, really hope RDNA5 doesn't end up being another disappointment because AMD badly needs it to succeed. And so do we so that GPU prices don't go completely insane.

I was wrong Wonder Boy on the SEGA Master System didn't come out 'til 1987, so you could throw that on best games during next Chudcast. Also recommend Shinobi and Phantasy Star 1; that game is way better than the first Final Fantasy 'cause there's only the need to grind at the start and you should be good for the rest of the game, though you'll probably want to use a guide for navigating the first person dungeons.

Don't review RPGs synth. All of them have grinding, they are too long for a proper full review so just dont man. I love for example Final Fantasy 5 & even that one has a lot of grinding for Job Class Levels. So yeah. Just skip JRPGs i know how legendary they are, which is basically because they were the open world from back in the day & with good music & decent stories. In all of them you mash A & get away with it. Still like em tho but no way you can do proper short reviews of em.

For example the job class system in FF5 opens up kinda fast you get ninja and knight very early but its still a whole grind to master them anyway whatever we'll see how it ends up being if he reviews JRPGs too

To be 100% honest Prince of Persia Lost crown is one of the best Metrioidvania games I have ever played, it’s the only Ubisoft game I’ve liked in a decade. I gave zero shits about the story and they did a terrible mistake how they marketed this game. But believe me I place this in my top 3 MetroidVanias. This team was the only people that actually had talent at Ubisoft and now they are gone.
