"Rectifiers" love a properly mic'd basketweave or greenback. Greenbacks can be super bright also , so start with ribbon or away from dustcap. I also prefer a ceramic magnet pickup in bridge to keep the strings articulate and tame the farty midrange. Of course depending on the ribbon mic being used its going to sound good closer to the dustcap.

Yeah, sounds a lot like a Recto. But consider that part of that sound is the distinctive power section too.

It is technically still a preamp module but it is made to produce the full sound of the mesa. preamp and power amp tone in full.

Synergy is making some great stuff. I like the sound through the SYN 50 head more than through the SYN1 desktop unit, but they are all fantastic.

Sounds good. I have one and the SLO, Savage, and Uberschall modules. It does its own thing and Synergy does a great job on pretty much everything. I like mine alot but then I love the Savage and probably the SLO just as much. Fun times to own gear \m/

The hard thing with Recto preamps is that the poweramp interaction is quite an important part of the Recto sound so you're always missing out on that.

Hey Ola, I've recently been looking at some flying V's and I checked Epiphones and Gibsons here and there... I realy got curious about that dean flying V on your wall. I have the diezel, C+ and Vai modules. The Vai module is amazingly versatile and can get heavy as shit! The C+ sounds great but not as versatile.

lol. I never owned one, but had a friend try one through my cab, he didn’t like it, i did. It did sound kinda mushy, but I liked it. I would have put something in front of the amp, but I wasn’t buying and didn’t want to get in the way of his purchase. He had I think the small recto idk 50watts idk long time ago, I thought it was cool but need something the clean it up. This actually sounds similar

Rectifiers almost always require an overdrive/screamer in front of them. I love the way it sounds but you'd think spending that much, the amp would sound good alone.
