Chugach National Forest: It’s one thing to experience a tidal wave, it’s quite another to try to surf it. In the first episode of Season 6, Jack and Colton paddle board through a frigid glacial lake and river in Alaska to catch a tidal bore and ride it for as long as they can.

Epic start to season 6 for you guys! One thing that might help with stability on the paddleboard is to use the paddle facing such that the tip tilts away from you, towards the bow. Using the paddle like a "scooper" where the tip of the blade faces towards stern produces a bit of instability in each stroke, at least in my experience. It kind of wobbles a bit during the stroke through the water, or just feels more unstable during more powerful strokes. In some shots the strokes were correct, so it must have been something figured out and corrected during the trip down the river. Anyway, awesome how you guys try just about everything while rockin' the parks, and importantly respect limits when trying something new.

What type of wetsuits did they wear? What brand did they use?

I wore a bikini but most people wear 2 or 3 millimeter wet suits in the summer, any brand really. It was really warm this day!
