I really can't think of a way to optimize this map. Eldin Volcano is by design a really open map. Which makes it quite difficult to optimize. In the distance the texture quality drops to 1996 levels but the game aplies a filter which blurrs the textures at a distance so it's not noticable and it fits well into the water colour art style. Maybe it's using some form of Lod, otherwise I just can't imagine how the Wii is running this.

Dude, you're actually on point in noticing the use of color in Skyward Sword. The art direction of the game was inspired by Impressionistic art; which was an early 20th century movement that focused on the use of color and light to describe form. The paintings were notable for using an incredibly diverse use of colors to describe a surface, and the use of chromatic variation to add variety and beauty to the objects in the world

How to improve Skyward Sword, if and when it's remastered for the Switch (SPOILERS): 1) Make Fi less of a handholder. 2) Take out unnecessary item texts and chest-opening animations. Seriously, half of the blue chests in this game can be replaced by brown ones. 3) Make Hero Mode available from the get-go, a la Wind Waker HD, instead of only unlocked after beating the game. There are advantages to it that makes it more enjoyable than playing regularly! (Faster Skyward Strike!!!) 4) Make the Hylian Shield available earlier on in the quest. Maybe when you're finding the 3 Sacred Flames there's a huge side-quest you can do that will get you it? 5) LEFT-HANDED OPTIONS!!!!

Aside from a ... certain mission later on, I really like Eldin Volcano. It's one of my favorite areas in the game. Fire themed areas typically have a lot of aspects to them that make them less fun to play but I don't have anything particularly bad to say about this one. The visuals are pretty (especially the lava) and the way you explore seems very fitting for its aesthetic.

chugga always seems to be right up next to goddess cubes when he launches his skyward strike. you do not have to hit the cube with the blade of your sword. the skyward strike itself is sufficient. no need to make physical contact. its the same as the goddess crests.

for such an advocate of different forms of combat in this game, Chugga almost never uses the skyward strike and when he does, its at point blank range. The beam goes farther than you would expect and its a great way to get a free hit in on enemies out of range, at a different elevation, or on one that spotted you first and is charging you down. It kinda bugs me and I would love to see him use it more

Bokune9999 playing on the wii u changes things because it makes the quality slightly better and he probably is using something that increases the quality. He is using a wii mote and numchuck, and changing the batteries right before a series only delays the message. Doing it before means that he is going into the game with a full battery and it can take a while for the batteries to run out

chugga, use your skyward strike on the bokoblins. from my experience it goes right threw their guard and instantly knocks them to the ground.

-You can roll into holes to get into them quickly! -You didn't go into the upper area at 9:00 (the one where you have to throw the bomb)! -Regarding shields, the wooden shield will disintegrate if it's hit with fire or if you are lit on fire while you're wearing it. _However_, shields can be equipped and unequipped with the minus button (select your shield from the adventure pouch menu, and you can then just tap the button to put it on and take it off). If your wooden shield is unequipped, it cannot be destroyed, allowing you to get through this area without buying a new shield if you really desire (though this is questionable outside of speedrunning, money isn't *that* tight in this game). -Bomb flowers will instantly explode if they hit fire, meaning that the Pyrus' fire breath can protect them, but it can also hurt them! Throwing the bomb right in their face as they're breathing fire will cause it to immediately explode, but this doesn't work on the ones inside of shells (the bomb has to get in their shell). The ones hiding in holes, though? Just wait for them to start breathing fire and then roll or throw the bomb into the fire! (Of course, this happens at 11:05, so I guess it's pointless to say all this!) -14:40 Maybe in a future Zelda game... ;)

For Chuchus, you could toss or roll a bomb at them. They absorb it and explode when the bomb flower goes off. I find doing that easier than using the sword.
