Unfortunately, this guy called Huff n Puff has made the sky cloudy and threatening the lives of the flowers. We'd better move quickly to save them. Kooper's Log Day 42: Can you believe what this flower just said about the color blue? I'll have you know blue is a lovely color, like my shell. How can blue be bad with me around? Bombette's Log Day 41: Finally here in Flower Fields, and despite the dreay sky, it's pretty colorful around here. The things you notice when you aren't feeling blue. Such a bad color to feel. Not that it's bad though, I mean, Kooper's blue, and, gah! Stop thinking about Kooper. Parakarry's Log Day 36: Man, it's been a while since I've last visited this place. I remember when I was little my friend and I would frolic around and goof off together. I wonder what my friend's been up to lately? Bow's Log Day 25: Just like Shy Guy's Toy Box, this place is really colorful. But at least the smells are a lot better. I love the smell of flowers, I'll have to get some before we leave. Watt's Log Day 15: So pretty. I love the colors. All 4 of them. I don't know many colors. Captain Sushie's Log Day 9: Never in me lifetime have I stepped tail in this place. I've explored the seas every corner, but never have I seen the world in the sky. Incredible it is. *meanwhile* *a mysterious figure watches from the shadows* ???: Huff n Puff. Come in. I believe I have visuals on the target. Puff: Really? Is he wearing a red hat and has a mustache? ???: ... Yes? Puff: Then that's him all right. Now, you know the drill. Follow him around and wait until the time is right. ???: Don't worry, you can count on,... *sees the partners and focuses in on Karry* Puff: Spike! Do you read me!? Spike: Uh, sorry sir! I just, was observing his followers. All 7 of them. Puff: I don't care how many there are, just take them out! Spike: Right, of course. *adjusts his shades* Mario's going down. Edit: Happy New Year!

I've always loved backtracking fetch quests when done right. I think Flower Fields does it pretty decently. It spells everything out well enough but not too much, so discerning the correct pathway is easy, but not so easy that there's no joy in finding the path. I also always thought the Tolielip was also a girl. Whoops. I also love Tolielip. His name spells out that he Lies all the time, and it's pretty funny to find out.

Chapter 6! Just in time for the New Year. And what better way to celebrate New Year's Eve than backtracking: the chapter. So many paths, so much back and forth down those paths. At least the asthetics are nice, and the gameplay is as fun as ever, and the enemies aren't too annoying. It all makes for a cozy little chapter, and a nice breather after the intensity of Mt. Lavalava. If only we could get some sun... It's been a wet, dark, cloudy day near me today. Playing this chapter today was really nice.

I think the purpose of Tolielip is that he gives you hints to things you otherwise wouldn't know about, but the catch is you have to do the *opposite* of what he says. For example, Tolielip will tell you left, right, middle for the Happy Flower badge trees, but the correct order is middle, right, left. I believe he also tells you about the well and specifically says *not* to throw a Blue Berry down it.

I just realized that the one badge he might not use is Peekaboo, because since he'll tattle every enemy in the game, there'd be no point in using it since tattle will reveal an enemy's HP anyway, and it'll stay that way once an enemy type is tattled

This is my first time experiencing this game and I’ve gotta say the environments in this game are simply stunning, particularly in the last three chapters plus this one. They have so much visual flare to them that helps each chapter feel unique in its own way

And here we get into one of the few gripes I have with this game: the Bub-ulbs and their seeds. My first time playing, I thought they were a cool optional reward for exploration, and was really disappointed to find out they were required for story progression all along. It felt less "special" discovering these throughout the chapters, knowing I would've had to backtrack and get them all anyway.

Sigh...here we go. From my favourite chapter...to my least. Between the music, the backtracking, the more powerful enemies, a partner that I always thought of as weak and hard to battle with, and the boss, it's a pain every time, and I know I'm not alone in thinking this. Will Emile manage to change my mind? Let's find out... - My woes with Chapter 6 begin with getting in...at least on my first run. I didn't quite get the whole "exploring" thing yet, so I didn't find the seeds at Mt Rugged or Forever Forest. Cue me going to Merlon and then combing the areas. - I love the music that plays in one off areas like Petunia's, and I've always loved how she points out the Daisy behind the tree. - Being able to go back to Toad Town is one of the few saving graces of the chapter.

I think that the partner we get here is actually pretty cool and i am really curious what Chugga thinks of them now, if nothing else his base fighting moves really do contribute to fighting with the boss . but i totally get your woes with finding the seeds the first time around, since my first play through it has just be ingrained in my memory from a kid to always grab the seeds in the levels their in cause i didnt enjoy the backtracking either. Not to mention that the game early on does somewhat down play the importance of the seeds...so if you dont go out of your way to get them you do end up feeling a small bit cheated as you thought you were just forgoing this optional task but nope haha, go back and get em!

I've noticed that in this chapter there is complete lack of heart blocks to heal you. If you want to desperately heal, then you're forced to go back to toad town. However, in how this chapter was designed, you're expected to use these berry trees to heal your hp and fp. Its kinda creative, but it forces you to leave some space in your inventory for them, where its already small. You leave the big items as your back up if you need it.

The backtracking is a bit of a bother, but nowhere near as bad as the backtracking in TTYD, especially chapter 4. Also, Chugga never showed the false advice the flower in the bottom left of the central hub gives you that tips you off to finding the Happy Flower badge in the three trees.

Chapter 4 of TTYD is literally mostly backtracking. 1. Go about halfway to Creepy Steeple to get a key and then return to the town to unlock the ability you need to progress. (1/2 backtracking trip) 2. Go to Creepy Steeple to defeat the creature. (1 backtracking trip) 3. Go all the way back to the town to recruit the partner you need. (2 backtracking trips) 4. Go back to Creepy Steeple to learn the monster's name. (3 backtracking trips) 5. Go back to right before the town to finally guess the creature's name right (this is impossible without step 4). (4 backtracking trips) 6. Go back to Creepy Steeple to defeat the monster for real. (5 backtracking trips) You have to backtrack across the same path 5 times (technically it's 4 but I count the half to go back and half to get back as another trip).

I jokingly refer to that game as "The Thousand Year Backtrack" from time to time in my head. While the parts mentioned in these comments are by far the worst(Keelhaul key is also pretty bad), almost Every chapter in that game has required backtracking in it. examples: -chapter 1: from start of chapter to petalburg to the fuzzy sewers, back to petalburg and then back to the start. -chapter 2: the whole madame flurry recruitment(tree to flurry; to shadow sirens at the start; back to flurry and back to the tree chapter 3: relativly tame. you have to scour the glitz pit a few times but that's it chapter 4: mentioned already chapter 5: from base to bobbery, back to base, back to bobbery,back to base, back to where bobbery was. chapter 6: you have to walk back and forth in the train constantly(also have to go back to keelhaul for the piantas) chapter 7: White chapter 8: a little bit between where you find the sirens and the black dragon. but not anymore than that if I remember right. Still love the game a lot tough.

It seems like the reason the green Monty Moles are weak to Hammer Throw and the Mt. Rugged ones aren't is because the green ones appear specifically in a way that forces you to run around to get them with your hammer. So like whack a mole. And it's probably hammer throw because it let's you hit any mole, not just like the one in front of you, adding to it playing like whack-a-mole.
