I have tried various methods to trim rifle brass. I have had sore fingers and burned up drills. I have cranked O a handle and listed to my RCBS trimmer squeal the whole way. Finally I broke down and got myself an RT1200. I have been nothing but happy. In fact I bought myself an attachment called a SwageIt that allows me to swage military primer pockets on my RL550. With this trimmer and the pocket swager I am able to resize, de-prime, de-crimp, and trim to length in one easy set up on my press. After that I tumble my brass which cleans up the case mouths enough that deburring and chamfering are not needed. I know everyone reading this does not have a Dillon Press, but you can still use this trimmer and save lots of time and heartache. This is really one of the best things that ever happened to rifle brass prep!!!

I do not chamfer after trimming, the trimmer does a nice clean cut. I think the trimmer is worth the money. Also make sure to use a good shop vac to suck up the trimmings or it will make a big mess

Do you still need to chamfer the cases mouths inside and out to remove burrs? I'm trying to decide to buy one. I have a dillon 650xl and it would speed up the process for sure.

according to one of the better places to buy from dillon stuff : There is only one scenario in which you will have to de-burr the inside of the case mouth: For 308/30.06 MILITARY brass with FLAT BASE bullets

I am trying to figure some things out. Once your size your brass and it sets a neck tension with expander ball it then goes into trimmer sizing die.... Doesnt it sizes neck down again without expanding it?

I have the same question here. Though I think a expand die like the lyman M die would solve the neck tension problem, but it still seems to be kinda counter productive to me. One reason why he's doing it I can think of is that the resize/decap die is a carbide die and setup just to do 70-80% of the the sizing since it's easier to size brass through carbide dies, and then the trim die (assuming it's a steel die) grabs the case without spinning it then sizes/trims.

Hey Chris-Thanks for sharing your video. I have a question Sir. Where did you find a hose for the trimmer exhaust port? I have been unable to locate one the correct size. Thanks again for sharing!

John I am using a shop vac hose that I pulled the adapter out of, so that it is just the hose. It was a little bit to large so I wrapped the neck of the male end of the Dillon exhaust port with some masking tape. It has worked great this way for the past year.

The only thing I dont understand why is the lever and the station where u add the brass on the same side. I makes it very akward IMHO.

AirsoftSlo watch a few videos of a Dillon progressive and you will see how smooth it’s running. The left hand is placing the bullets on the 3rd stage so either way you have to use the hand that would pull the handle.

I see that you are sizing your brass twice. I read of some guys having problems with the brass spinning in the trim die if you resize twice, have you had any problems like that?

I have had no issues with the brass spinning in the trimmer die. The trimmer is spinning so fast and you are taking so little material off the top that it does not have the chance to bind up. I have done over 10,000 pieces of brass this way with no issues.

YOU ARE SIZING TWICE A UNIVERSAL DECAPING DIE IN 1ST STATION WILL SUFICE .THE TRIM DIE WILL SIZE THE BRASS BEFOR IT TRIMS IT .USING A SIZE DIE IN STATION 1 IS A WASTED COST FOR THE SIZE DIE . JUST MY THOUGHTS .

Thank you for the video. The problem I see is you have a lot of "mission creep". Meaning, this video is supposed to be about the TRIMMER, right? You don't even show the whole trimmer in the video...not even for a second. Once camera angle which doesn't even show the shell plate. But you spend so much time telling us about lubing cases for the sizing die, with what lube, and how, then how to measure, etc. We know that. We just want to see THE TRIMMER, and the trimmer in action. Even the actual trimmer, not an oblique view of the bottom half of the trimmer. Otherwise, change the name of your video.
