Great video!!!!!!! Certainly brings back memories. Our dad took us pheasant hunting 60s-esrly 70s Sacramento Valley, Every fall. My first shotgun was a Sears Roebuck .410 single shot, which i still have. So glad i have those memories. Now Im in Idaho and will continue Upland bird hunting.

Wonderful video! I grew up in Wisconsin, right on the Mississippi river, but moved to Montana 14 years ago for work. Although I love the plethora of upland hunting there is to be had, what I miss the most of WI is duck hunting with my Dad. The times that the weather would sour to the point of me asking "What are we doing out here?!" I now look back on with great fondness and longing.

Great story. Zak is a class individual. No boasting, no negativity, just a kind, humble, nice guy. And the idea of hot-spotting hells canyon for chukar is ridiculous. I can't think of another place that is more known for hunting a specific bird than chukar in Hells canyon. And most hunters who do travel there get humbled.

Project upland always about the hot-spotting. Creating mass awareness and pressure in upland hunting. Stylizing, mainstreaming, and promoting a brand to appease the masses. Thanks

Hells Canyon is over 100 miles long and encompasses public land in 3 states - not to mention the hundreds of thousands of acres that extend out in all directions. If hearing that there are birds in that region makes you feel threatened, I hope you never read hunting reports from state wildlife agencies.

Yes, I agree the only way to make sure our sport and passion withstands the test of time is to gate keep all knowledge, make the sport as unattractive as possible, portray it as unattainable for newcomers and and sequester it to the corner of the outdoor community. That way when upland hunting fades into obscurity as land access dwindles and the cogs of bureaucracy churn out laws to crush the now under represented demographic of bird hunters, we can look back and admire the slipperiness of the slope we just slid down and the thickness of the mire at the bottom.

@NicholasShamansky very negative outlook you have there. Good luck in the future with your debacles.

@@Chukartramp Not quite negative enough to write a negative and inaccurate comment on a beautiful video. Only negative enough to reply to the aforementioned comment.

So, what have you contributed to maintaining the upland bird populations in the region?
@ProjectUplandАй бұрын
Great question, and we agree that’s a priority in choosing anyone’s story to tell. One of these guys is a career wildland firefighter and the other spent his career at a state wildlife agency, so they’ve both devoted their professional lives to protecting and advocating for these critical wild spaces.

Devoted isn't contributing!!!
@jenniferwapenski357Ай бұрын
@@DrewWahlin huh? Please try reading that again. Decades of civic service working in land management agencies that directly and indirectly protect the land shown in the film. What would you say is the minimum number of years of work to be considered a contribution? Is the official position of your nonprofit that land management agencies aren't beneficial?

@@DrewWahlin what have you contributed? Since we're on a witch hunt here.
