I case anyone is wondering AWG - American wire gage. The smaller the number the thicker the wire is.

Well it’s still a mess. The untrained individual will not know the difference between a #2 and #2/0

Homie the lack of conduit and trenching is painful to look at. Other than that it looks sick as heck 👍
@ChumpChangeXDАй бұрын
Lmao. Direct burial wire does not need conduit if it did it wouldn’t be called direct burial. 🤣

Conduit makes replacing wires easier in case of failure.

@@BTWFTITAN 100% if OP's install is temp, or he is moving whatever is on the other end, then sure! Temp is ways preferable to non existing. But even for planning tomorrow, direct burial wire in conduit will last even longer! Just terminate everything correctly on the final so it doesn't fill with water
@dorkman112Ай бұрын
@ChumpChangeXD uh yea... but it's also required to be buried. You can't use that cable just strewn across the yard. So you gotta put it 24 inches into the ground.

Flush cut the zip ties so you don’t get stabbed later on, those cuts are terrible.

Wire need to be in pipe and under ground. Smh.
@ChumpChangeXDАй бұрын
Actually, you’re wrong. They make direct burial wire, which is what this is. Conduit would be overkill 100% Also I left slack to bury it when I have a minute being a full time dad you only get so much time in the day.
@ShadowBrave21Ай бұрын
Pipe is classified as something that watere passes through. Ducts:air Conduit:electrically conductive cables
@joshuaholmes5096Ай бұрын
@ChumpChangeXD they make a lot of things for construction. That doesn't make them good. The conduit is important to protect the wire, not just for burial. A weed eater or lawn mower. Frost and friction. Movement. UV damage over time leading to exposed wires. Animals and so on and so on. Plenty of good reasons.
@shorty430551Ай бұрын
@@ChumpChangeXD It would be advisable to sleeve wire in conduit where it goes down the pole to prevent physical damage from say a weedwhacker or a tree rat (squirrel) they love to chew on wires in the cities and suburbs.
