For anybody still trying this in 2023, a quick note to follow: Copy all the changes you made in the COPY of the xml file and paste them onto the ORIGINAL xml file. Afterwards, just delete the copy you made.

That folder is hidden by default unless you elect to not hide system files in windows explorer. %appdata% just takes you there.

I cant seem to get it to work. Have my colours set, copied it to clipboard, made a copy of graphicsconfig file and pasted my colour code. Relaunched elite and it was still just default. Am I missing something?

@@j3tfire_gaming727 You might have to copy the whole section of coding from arku with the Hud colour changes in place, and override the old set. I was having some trouble with it too, once I'm able to figure out how to record videos using streamlabs onto youtube ill make a video on it

Yeah... this doesn't work now. Edit: figured it out. It depends on your install path for ED. The .xml file that worked for me was found at: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Elite Dangerous\Products\elite-dangerous-64

Thank you, CMDR! Just adding a thing, though: my file was named "GraphicsConfiguration", and it was full of code. What I did was searching (Ctrl+F) "guicol" on my Notepad++.

Make sure you make a copy of the GraphicsConfiguration and edit the original file because editing the copy won't work, the copy is just incase you mess up the coding you can copy and repaste from the copy to original file

Make sure you dont have something like an Ad Blocker turned on for that website. There arent any ads and it just breaks the sliders. You can also try a different browser

guys if the graphic configuration override notepad xml is not visible on the folder he mentioned don't fret it's moved deeper into the folder so it's frontier developments / elite dangerous / options / graphics PS: be warned, it will changed ALL your HUD indicator, that means the blue and RED warning signs in your hud, if you're not used to it the hud color is gonna be monotone as hell, that includes spaceship outfitter in space stations too i personally can't stand it so i go back to default colors

That depends Only putting around 0.4 to 0.6 on the first red value and going negative to the 2nd and 3rd, you can still get the red markers, blue shields, and still get another color for the interface Just don't add red in the other two matrix ;)

In theory if you can find the file you need to edit. It should work just fine. you just need to be CERTAIN that you set the file to read only mode, otherwise it will get set to default every time you open ED

Looks like there is a "Disable GUI Effects" Setting you need to disable to get it working. There's also a mod you can install that does a slightly better job of recoloring things on your HUD now. Could also try that.

You are supposed to change the file to read only so elite dangerous doesnt reset it. Couple people have been having this same issue so its possible they changed the process in a recent update.

Here's what I did: 1. After you copy the file, rename the original file to --> GraphicsConfigurationOverride.xml Old (When you rename the original file it will ask if you're sure you want to rename it because it will make it non functional - this is what you want so the new file takes over.) 2. Rename the copied file to --> GraphicsConfigurationOverride.xml (Game will now read from this.) 3. Do everything else in this video as he shows.

You mean the website? It has some javascript errors because some of the site assets aren't secure, so the programming in the page breaks and doesn't do anything.

I have bought elite Dangerous on the Oculus store. We had to locate the launcher and add a shortcut to the desktop to play the game on PC. I don't think that my default file configuration would be the same as the one that you would have. Does anyone know where to look instead?

You need to be sure after you edit the file with new colors, that you lock the file and set it to read only mode. Otherwise the game will overwrite it the next time you boot it up

@@ChupacabraTutorials I'll do a rundown of what I'm doing. I go to GraphicsConfigurationOverride.xml, it is located in the same place as shown in your video. I make a copy of it. I open the copy with Notepad, I remove what is already written in the file (which is ), and I add the line of code needed. Then, I change the RGB values to the values I want. I then save and exit the file. I right click on it, I go to Properties, and check the box "Read only", I do that only with the copied file. I tried making the original file also Read only, but there's no change. I then go to launch the game, and no HUD changes, I check the files to see if they changed, and they didn't. So I don't know what I'm doing wrong :/
