@Jake Letts Don't have a Vette myself, but I have found that short range frag turrets are outstanding on the size 1 slots on the Conda. Throw on the drag munitions experimental and they're automatic "get the f*ck off my ass" turrets. Short range is all benefits for this because it ensures they only fire when enemies are seriously trying to hug your dead zone. In any case, I assume the same would work well for the Vett's Class 3 slot too. Lord knows it has enough distributor it wouldn't even feel it when it starts firing anyway.

Almost triple the width and no usable space to go with it... It should be a decent combat ship because putting the thrusters at the end of those extented wings would give more leverage (or torque? the term doesn't matter, you get my point) so you can always keep the ventral guns trained on an enemy just by rolling to show your underside to them but... My Belugas are: A Fuel Rat rescue tanker, and an explorer. She doesn't have the range of a Conda, but flies better in supercruise, and carries all I need.

@@ScottishPhoenix You'll get there. Take your time. Pick up the guardian FSD booster, and fly to Colonia and back. That should sort out Palin. Asp-X or either Krait works well for the fetching of special materials to satisfy engineer odd desires. Enough cargo to grab all you can, fast and good jump range to make the back and forth as painless as possible.

In the lead up to distant worlds 2, several people in the fleetcom discord figured out you could outfit a beluga to be one of the best long range jumpers in the game, while carrying exploration equipment and a full planetary landing loadout. It was far from popular, but also quite good at the job. The biggest problem that you can't really build around is the heat.

One of the main draws to me purchasing a ship is the view out of its cockpit, and the beluga has a beautiful one. The Clipper, Asp, Beluga, and ... lol the Type 9 are my favorite to look out into space.

I bought a beluga entirely to make it do things it shouldn't. Mining? Sure. Missile only combat rammer? You got it. Saving people from a burning station in a literal yacht? Why not? Thargoid combat? Of corse! This this is my ultimate "because I can do this with better ships, doesn't mean I will" ship. Nothings better than rolling up to the xenos and ramming a cyclops with my girth and guardian inseminators in front of a group of actually kitted anti xeno ships.

I have to say, you left out some pretty big positives about the Beluga. It's an excellent miner. It is one of the fastest and most maneuverable large ships in the game. It also handles weight like a champ. What other ship can have 2 fighters, 4 SRV's, shields, FSD booster, a couple limpet controllers, room for cargo, enough fuel for 10 jumps, fuel scoop, AFMU's and still manage 50+Ly jump range (with nothing undersized)? Not too many, It's an incredible ship and underrated by most people. I'm not saying it's the best ship, just better than represented here. I think it still needs some balancing and it's size can be an issue in some cases. The shape is also... questionable. I really do enjoy your reviews though. I always look forward to the next one. Keep up the excellent work!

The Beluga really only excels in the same way that the Type-9 does: Mass transit of the Masses. If you want to know where all that biowaste the type-9 hauls comes from, look no further than the nearest Beluga. The Dolphin excels far more for catering to the sightseeing elite who often want to take up an entire cabin to themselves, the Orca lovingly getting to pick its passengers, while the Beluga ferries hordes of the unwashed masses from point A to anywhere else, for the love of god, anywhere but here at Point A.

Any time I've done passenger runs I just ignored the passenger requests. Of course, I dont know if this has any affect on the payout. I was doing Robigo runs and those people are criminals so I guess I didn't have to listen to them.

I bought one to perform Robigo runs, whenever I need some cash I fly out to the system and pick her up for a few hours. I named her the Hindenburg in hopes that she may blow up if I ever try doing more than robigo runs in her (also because the Hindenburg was the largest aircraft ever made and it seemed fitting

I imagine if space legs allowed us to walk around inside, with no-one around it would be like the hotel from the shining, but in space. I think i'd stay in the cockpit, and drag a drinks cabinet up to block the door, for safety. Ooh crap... why did i just have to imagine a xenomorph from Alien getting inside.

I am hoping that they model luxury passenger cabins and so forth when the space legs DLC drops. Wandering about the inside of these cruise ships is very high on my to-do list and I'd re-buy this terrible thing just to do so. On the other hand I do have an Orca, but the scale of the Beluga would be worth it.
