We stroll down Church Street in Stellenbosch on a sunny winter day. The town is lined with oak trees providing shade to trendy eateries, art galleries and shops. Get a sense of South Africa's Dutch Colonial History by the restored Cape Dutch Architecture dating from the 18th and 19th century.
Stellenbosch is South Africa's second oldest town dating back to 1679. The towns farming activities started a year later and it is now known for its surrounding wine farms.
We start our walk with a look at the large iron mill wheel of Nieuwe Molen, the third wheat mill built in Stellenbosch. While not historically placed in the correct position as the area has been built up, the art installations aims to connect visitors and residence of Stellenbocsh to the town's history.
We end off with at Moederkerk (in Afrikaans) which translates to Mother Church and is a Dutch Reformed church.
