Most of these properties are owned by Europeans not even white South Africans hence its been priced outside of what most locals can afford. But the most wealthiest people in South Africa are not in Cape Town they reside in Jo'Burg hence its called the most expensive square mile in Africa, some do have properties in Cape Town as holiday homes.

@@capzallison3922 I agree Cape Town is beautifull its a perfect place for tourism, leasure and holiday but not a good place to make money, all those beautiful houses you see there are not built from Cape Town money; there are no industry hubs nor business districts hence most owners don't stay there the whole year because they have to make business somewhere. And FYI i don't live in Benoni i live in Pretoria and as of Gauteng in general we do have beutiful home like Cape Town we just don't have the scenery and our homes are not as over priced. Hello from Canada. What do all of these neighbourhoods have in common? The answer may surprise you. It is "order". It is in human nature to be drawn to settlements that are cared-for, in the sense of being clean and aesthetic. Fortunately for the 99.9% of us humans who cannot afford the neighbourhoods that you have shared, we can create improved neighbourhoods in our own midst. All that is required is the will. The accessories to beauty do not cost so much - paint, a broom, some plants, nicely organized belongings, basic repairs, etc. To a surprising extent, this visual appeal is available to the "masses", if we would simply care for our own settings with greater attention to such considerations.

I live on the Atlantic Seaboard of Cape Town and the reason I paid that kind of price is because of the light. You get different hues reflected off the ocean and when it hits the mist from the mountains, it feels like you are in an impressionist painting or in some virtual landscape. Truly magical. The quality of private school education is better than the top schools in the top international cities but at 1/8th of the price. A winner all round.

@@StevenNdukwu thank you,for considering that! Your coverage would change the misconceptions some people have about the dynamics of wealth distribution in SA. There's widely shared misguided narrative that most black South Africans do not command the material wealth in SA & are excluded from the mainstream economic participation. Although,to a large extent that is factual,the economic development gap is gradually being bridged. South Africa may be regarded as the most unequal country in the world,when it comes to racial wealth distribution its structural inequality does not equal abject poverty. Rather it is a representation of the disproportionate wealth gap between the underprivileged & the elites.

@@lozi4163hope all is well. With all due respect, he had a point in regards to his comments. For example: I’m from the U.S. in the U.S when u mention SA wealth, most Americans know that you’re talking about White SA. South Africa is also, the closest in relation to America because of the diversity and WS that unfortunately still goes on in SA. U see, I truly understand why he needed to bring up Black ownership. He was right to do so.
@mmeshikgaphola419
@mmeshikgaphola419 Жыл бұрын
@@lozi4163 please do not impose your selective hearing & lack of good comprehension skills on me! For starters,i assume you have thoroughly watched the video & are acutely aware that Cape town is a lily-white city,hence the upmarket housing ownership is predomlinantly owned by white South African elites while the majority of the black people in that city are excluded through class & racial discrimination. Henceforth,i emphasized the need for an inclusive coverage when it comes to property ownership in SA & the persisting historical dynamics which are determining factors. It is an undisputed fact they are 100% black owned housing all over SA. Black people in the mostly rural, under-developed & under-serviced own a vast land but they lack capital for infrastructural development in order to commercialise the land. My mentioning of the Limpopo province was mainly based on the remarkable rapid growth of how the communities transformed the rural settings to rival or supersede some areas in the urban cities. Your disapproval of my viewpoints has no substantial input,just an unprovocked emotional bickering,you even mentioned that you're from Tzaneen as if that insulated your lack of logic. Please find something to be outraged about because your incoherence is appalling.
