You can buy an expensive HD camera but like the video shows, a simple HD PTZ robotic camera run by a PTZ controller is all you need

Thanks for the video and great job! Our church is looking to start live streaming and a member suggested buying a couple Cannon 5d mark iii's for this. However, I've read that DSLR's aren't a good option for long form video (1+ hours) due to overheating, etc. and that actual video cameras are a better option. Have you found this to be true? Thanks!
@dvestore
@dvestore 7 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Jeremy! I would agree that DSLR's are not the best option for long form video. Are you going to have camera operators, or have you looked into PTZ cameras?
@worm75
@worm75 7 жыл бұрын
We'd like to look into PTZ cameras as the number of our volunteers are often low and or fluctuate, and it looks like the PTZ are relatively easy to man.

Using vMix and PTZoptics cameras together is a great combination. The 4K version of vMix has native PTZ control, which allows you to set multiple presets for each camera that can be recalled with the push of a button. You can use an Xbox controller to manually control the PTZ cameras as well. Very cool stuff! www.dvestore.com/vmix-software/ www.dvestore.com/ptzoptics-20x-sdi/

I like that 8TB hard drive, but I don't understand why someone would want to save that much data on 1 hard drive without any RAID. That drive fails, you've lost everything. I learned a lot from this video, but I don't know why the choice there for storage. I'd love to hear that, because if there is a valid reason, I'll consider it on my jobs.
@dvestore
@dvestore 7 жыл бұрын
I completely agree with you! That drive was used because the customer went out and bought it themselves. A mirrored G-Tech RAID like this would be a better, safer solution. www.dvestore.com/g-technology-0g04069-g-raid-usb-g1-removable-hardware-raid-2-bay-storage-solution-usb-3-0-8tb/

we also have a small church but we are growing. this information is great. i am the only one that knows anything of upgrading running wires hooking up, just a jack of all trades. but i am dangerous. So i guess the first thing is drawing it all out as to what we want to do and equipment we need to accomplish the end in mind. one question the tvs in the foyer do they have sound or just video

Sir, I'm interested in doing something at my church maybe you can give me some advice on. Keep in mind, I don't need new stuff for this, perhaps you could sell me some old equipment that would fit the bill. I'm a church organist and the organ is in the balcony facing the rear wall. I would like to have a simple video monitoring system with a camera near me on the balcony rail (needs to be PTZ) aiming forward to the chancel. I would also like a camera up in the chancel facing back towards the church entrance (under the balcony where I cannot see), also PTZ. I would like to have a sufficient monitor and a switching system whereby I can toggle the cameras, and do the PTZ as needed. I believe it will need to be a wired system as we cannot have a delay in the event there is an orchestra conductor up front and I need to view the conductor in real time in the monitor. I understand the wireless or digital monitors have a slight delay which would be undesirable. Please let me know what you think, sir. Could I do something for under $1,000? Thanks! -Ryan

Our church is planning, or rather in process, of upgrading to PTZs and vMix for streaming/recording. We’ve had nothing up until now. The cameras, once installed, will not be easily accessible, therefore they will need to be controlled and powered remotely. What would be your suggestions for cameras, pc, I/Os to run and control 2 PTZs on vMix? We currently have an Aux. send output designated for our streaming mix. What’s our best options since we our at the purchasing stage of this process?

Hi this setup is for only one camera, what else will need to setup 2 or 3 cameras? can I combine PTZ and HD Sony or canon video cameras? I have Blackmagic ATEM TV studio for 4 cameras, is this a good option? or it's getting obsoleted? I would like to hear your advice, Regards Sam

A couple of questions: What's the make/model of the HDMI to Ethernet converter? I can't find it anywhere on your site. What is the function/role of the decimator?
@dvestore
@dvestore 7 жыл бұрын
We don't carry that particular HDMI extender and it looks like it's out of production now. This one looks very similar: www.hdtvsupply.com/1x4-hdmi-splitter-over-single-cat5.html The Decimator, in this setup, is acting as a distribution amp and taking the single HDMI program out and sending it to the SmartView Duo monitor via SDI and the HDMI extender via HDMI.

May I ask why you have two capture cards (mini recorder & Intensity pro)? Shouldnt the mini recorder by itself do the job of streaming?
@dvestore
@dvestore 7 жыл бұрын
Hi, Josh: The Mini Recorder doesn't do any streaming, but it does allow you one video input. I used it to bring in an SDI feed from the PTZOptics camera. The Intensity Pro 4K gave me an HDMI program output.
@jodopark
@jodopark 7 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the confusion, Instead of using the term, "stream," I should've phrased the question to "Shouldn't the mini recorder by itself be enough to capture the video from the camera so that the vmix software can stream it?"

hi man my question is how do you manage to take the final output feed i know that you used cat 6 for extension but what dou use as the output from computer to the tv
@dvestore
@dvestore 7 жыл бұрын
HDMI extenders have a transmitter that sends the signal over CAT 5/6 cable, then on the other end is the receiver that converts it back to HDMI.
@hcmd8768
@hcmd8768 7 жыл бұрын
hi thanks for reply,my question is how do you put the feed in the hdmi at first place bcause vmix doesn't have an hdmi output port,do you get me.i understand the cat5/6 thing but that fee you put in hdmi then cat five how do you take it out from vmix
@dvestore
@dvestore 7 жыл бұрын
vMix relies on the in/out card that you have installed in the PC, to capture and/or output video. For instance, if you have a Blackmagic Design card like this installed, you will be able to output HDMI or SDI program video. www.dvestore.com/blackmagic-design-decklink-mini-monitor/

@dvestore
@dvestore 7 жыл бұрын
HC MD is correct that you will need a capture card like the Decklink SDI 4K: www.dvestore.com/blackmagic-design-bdlksdi4k-decklink-sdi-4k/ You will need to run an SDI cable from the second camera to the capture card, and connect the second camera to the network.

Do you recommend using the ptz over a mid level cam corder ??
@dvestore
@dvestore 6 жыл бұрын
Hi, Francois: A mid-level camcorder can work great if you have an operator and a good tripod, or if you are happy with a locked-off shot. The great thing about a PTZ camera is the ability to instantly recall preset shots, which can make it look like you have a bunch of cameras!
