This is such an interesting place on the tour! I loved the history of the structure itself and the mosaic, but the point that hit home for me the most was about how each of us is needed and can’t be replaced. I also need to begin diving into more of St Augustine’s writings now that I’m a bit more “spiritually mature”. I guess I shouldn’t be shocked that God uses such beautiful art to express His love for us. We are a mosaic of sorts as the Church Militant, each needed in their own way and for their own reasons and contributions. The fact this church and the mosaic are hundreds of years old, yet here for us now, brings to mind the eternal nature of God and His Majesty.

This is a beautiful video. Thank you so much for helping us to be as pilgrims, journeying to the Stational Churches. This is such a gift to us all!

The message of the mosaic as the people of God reminds me of the famous quotation of Bl. Carlo Acutis: "All are born as originals, but many die as photocopies."

Sadly, was not able to visit when I went to Rome, since this is the church of my people.
