Churchill Announces Admiral Graf Spee Scuttled - 1939

Winston Churchill announces on the BBC that the crew of the German Pocket Battleship Admiral Graf Spee scuttled her in the vicinity of Montevideo Harbour on 17 December 1939.
This is one of the first major losses to the German Kriegsmarine in World War 2.

As a great captain, he saved his crew and out of pride and loyalty to the Nazis and his Fuher, he blew up his own vessel so as not to be humiliated and sunk by the English fleet, which he certainly would.
