CHURCHILL Mk.VII ＞ Mk.III - Part 1 - 1/35 TAMIYA - Tank Model - [ model building ]

This time, I will modify Tamiya's 1/35 Churchill Mk.VII kit. I will go back in time and detune it to the Churchill Mk.III that fought on the North African front. It won't be perfect, but I will be satisfied if I can enjoy the atmosphere of that era.
今回はタミヤの 1/35 チャーチル Mk.VII のキットを改造。時をさかのぼり北アフリカ戦線で戦ったチャーチル Mk.III にディチューンします。パーフェクトっとは行きませんが、それらしい雰囲気が楽しめれば私的には十分に満足と言えるでしょう。

This is a very interesting build! Converting to the MK3, excellent work! I like the fun element of putting an MG on the back. I’m thinking “come on lads! let’s get that gun up there, beats the hell out of carrying it!” Lots of fun with the story your story you’re telling. Nice one mate. 👍

I hadn't noticed before, but the box side image has the correct one piece side air intake panels shown, as opposed to the kit - which are late/post war with the 3 section panels - silly Tamiya !

It’s a great visual model, but for accuracy next time put your figures in a position try to do it in a way that would suggest they valued their lives. In this instance put the commander showing as little as possible of his body, with the rifleman laying prone and the chap on the Vickers would want a few more items to cover him as opposed to some sandbags to hold down the tripod…just a thought.

Great modelling skills, but I'm not sure what the story is. I can understand the intent of the commander, straining forward, but the infantry? Why heave an MG into place firing backwards? The composition should be forward. It just looks like some figures plonked down because there was no idea what to do with them. I know I sound harsh. Apologies.

I agree that there is no logical reason for this, but modelling is meant to be a fun activity even if historical accuracy may suffer. I admire the skill of taking an old kit and making it a real beauty like is being done here.

A British infantryman who boldly launches an attack against enemy infantry chasing after him with a machine gun mounted on the rear deck.
