I have read Winton’s mother bio. Here it shows how she helped his career but also got his way of looking at and spending money! Not it a bad way but I remember in it he writing to his mother that they did not have economy in them! They loved beautiful things. Did not spend in a drunken party way. Lots of money towards houses and art!

Started of as a truant, liar , conman and ended up as a saviour of democracy and guardian of free press. What a life!!

@@22grena 'demockery' would be more apt. He taught at my school for a year (well before my time, of course). During the war he was the conduit through which Churchill and the Zionists did their business. When he died the husband and wife team who waited on him hand and foot, carried out his strict instruction to burn all of his papers.

8:42 The map of Europe is about 40 years incorrect. Finland has been independet from 1917, and today 6.12.2019 we celebrate our 102nd independence day. Slightly offended.

Fascinating. An independent spirit with ferocious determination for a full life and ultimately a dedication to the higher good - if not for his steadfast support and dedication to Winston Churchill, Churchill may not have been able to keep his energy up and we would probably as “they “ like to say, would all be speaking German. Thank you Mr. Bracken. A most mysterious extraordinary man.

An Englishman cant stand the fact that an Irishman was so pivotal to Britain's survival during WW2, hence the absurd nonsense that he was Churchills son.
@henryb160Ай бұрын
Funny how he spent years pretending to be an Australian. In truth he was only 'pivotal' as a dedicated zionist. See. Chaim Weizmann's Letters and Papers, Series B, vol II., and The Diaries Of Blanche Dugdale, 1936-1947.

In the 1840s, you didn't "emigrate from Ireland to England"- you just moved there: like people moved from Glasgow to Manchester, or from Cardiff to Liverpool, or from Liverpool to Dublin...such a ridiculous and ignorant thing to say.

I think its pretty obvious that Brendan was gay, in a time when that was basically illegal. But from rags ( maybe not quite ) to riches a very intelligent man.
@claudeyaz3 жыл бұрын
Maybe. But you are underestimating the sheer fanaticism...he romanticized the old days of England...saw churchill as the spiritual heir of the Duke of marlborough.. Also factor in having no father figure and being abandoned by his mother. I see a lot of historical mens relationships as likely gay...but this one? Nah. He seemed to really be living out the fantasy of putting "his churchill" into history. Look up more about the dude. Besides how close they were. There were no signs of romantic relationship.
@claudeyaz3 жыл бұрын
When he was young he was obsessed in books. Especially the fantasy of historical books. He likely saw himself as someone writing history with his actions.
