Such a cute, little machine. Add some discrete graphics Chuwi and you got yourself a customer. Great review Chris!

Yes I would love to see an RTX 4070 or RTX 3070 inside with this would make a nice little video editing PC, Still I find it odd it's missing USB 4.0.

Hi, great review!!! One question, if I can, USB ports are just plain 3.0 or 3.2 gen 1 (/2)? Thanks!

Amazing!!!! So great video... exactly what i was looking for... My CoreBox 5th arrived with 5,200mhz RAM only one 16gb module... the SSD is a bit faster than yours so i think it is because the drivers and updates i downloaded... Thanks for this great video... about 3 weeks looking for info about memory upgrade... Clearly it is not the best MiniPC but something nice to have...
@Techtablets9 ай бұрын
Great to hear this helped. So get another 16GB stick if you can and they you'll have dual channel which will boost the performance. So your SSD is faster? I guess that is normal due to drivers which I also updated but then each SSD would be slightly different.
@israelramirez16179 ай бұрын
@@Techtablets Im planning to upgrade to 64GB in the future... for now think 16GB is good for Win11... as you said the SSD 4x4 would be so good. but seems not an easy task to clone the disk because the limited PCIe ports... well... not a perfect mini PC but as minimum it is a nice MiniPC ...jejejeje

@@israelramirez1617if it just had one more pcie 4.0 M2 slot it would be great. Then I would add an Oculink eGPU 😂
@Micromation9 ай бұрын
Could perhaps mod it with M2->OcuLink in NVMe slot for external GPU (would obviously need to make a hole for the plug somewhere) for that eGPU experience, which would also work better than Thunderbolt/USB4 solution that imposes 20% penalty right from the get-go along with whole swatch of weird issues... Shame it didn't come with 2x NVMe slots, that would be just perfect.
@Techtablets9 ай бұрын
Yeah I have an Oculink eGPU set up and it's 63gbps certainly kills tb3 USB 4.0 40gbps plus no overhead as you said. This issue is we would have to go to Sata3 for our boot drive but yes gain a powerful GPU which would be great.

For the same price (excluding shipping and import fees which are another story), I can get in a local store a PC ryzen 5 5500, 512 SSD, 16 gb ram, Geforce 1650 4gb.
@rosetzu_nagasawa9 ай бұрын
exactly!! this is a no brainer. Just get the components and have the store build it. YOu know what you are getting.
@Techtablets9 ай бұрын
Sure there is that. But some people don't want that fuss and just prefer a mini pc as is buy and boot it up. But yes 100% if you want graphics performance go for your own build with a dedicated GPU.

Had anyone encountered standby issue n shutdown issue after update to 23H2 ? After standby, the PC was not able to wake up. And on shutting down, the PC LED still lots, wasn't able to fully shutdown, and have to manually press n hold the Power Button to off it

Thanks Chris! Amazing review as usual :D I was actually torned between this and the small N100 version to transform my Family TV to a "smart" one.
@Trusteft9 ай бұрын
Isn't the N100 like a small fraction of this in performance? Weird pair. 😜
@saturn2fire9 ай бұрын
@@Trusteft Yup... I was thinking of using it as more into family streaming etc... regular use but I was thinking of doing games as well. I can't decide yet... that's why I was torned... do I just use the N100 and spare another for light to medium gaming? That'll be expensive and not sure if it's cost effective.
@Trusteft9 ай бұрын
@@saturn2fire If you have gaming in mind, If you can afford them, go for a system with a Ryzen and a 780m or at least 680m on it. Different play level than these Intel ones. Seriously. I like Intel, but this is a one horse race as far as I am concerned.

Can you take a look at the Intel 12th gen Corebook X update? Even though my 8th gen one had the hinge catastrophically fail in 1.5 years with little support options -_-
@Techtablets9 ай бұрын
I did ask Chuwi to send me one but nothing... They are not marketing it or something now they said.
@tipoomaster9 ай бұрын
@@Techtablets At least the previous generations of it do seem failure prone and I assume the company makes razer margins, maybe they were taking a loss on sending out battery replacements and hinge repairs

Could be that yes. Just not making enough money on it.

with ddr5 dual-channel is not as important as it was with ddr4 and below. since ddr5 has a 2x32bit bus width compared to 1x64bit for ddr4.
@Techtablets9 ай бұрын
True, but it will still help a little. At least it's easy enough to slap in another 16GB stick.
@Xfade819 ай бұрын
you said you test out of the box. and now for chuwi you add a stick ?
@Techtablets9 ай бұрын
To save myself from the comments I didn't test it dual channel as that's what happens in all the reviews if there is an empty slot. Also so the gaming performance wasn't painful for me. 680m/780m is the way to go now for igpus.

Sorry, whats the point of intel min-pcs right now? AMD cpus for the appropriate weight class perform about the same, but then the new 680m/780m integrated graphics from AMD smokes intel Xe graphics. So with Intel you lose on graphical power by over half, but what do you gain? They aren't cheaper.
@Techtablets9 ай бұрын
Not much the only case I can think is with Intel's quick sync. Until we get the next gen iGPU from intel it's going to a loss for Intel mini pcs.
