I know this is an old post, but as a big fan of anything Gordon Lightfoot did, I have to say how much I really enjoyed this! I wonder though, why some of the contestants barely got to sing at all in this song, while others got to sing quite a bit. For example, the young man on the far left only sang one line solo, which gave him an unfair disadvantage, I thought.. On the other hand, I thought that the first young man who started off the song had a voice that was perfect for this song, and I would have liked to hear him sing it all the way through. It was a tough song for the girls to sing though, considering the key it was in.

I don't think I could ever tire of Gordon Lightfoot. Listened to him as a kid growing up and have always been a big fan. He truly is a Canadian Idol!

I remember watching it on my couch with my parents while I still lived in toronto, canada! And I moved to cape breton less than a month later & two years after Kalan won I seen him at what’s called the “savoy theatre” here in cape breton! And his voice was just truly amazing!

I would give this a "heart" if I could. This just goes to show how incredibly timeless is the impact of Gordon Lightfoot's internal song, gift, and life are - generation-to-generation. What a beautiful group and soul they have carried in song. Lightfoot's music has no limits, no definition but beautiful, and no end. (And... that Kalan Porter has an incredible likeness in voice to Gordon! Wow!) I hope he's still singing all these years later.
